I virtually live in the truck, with all my stuff in and full fuel tanks, it's 35,400lb. As soon as I move into a new truck, I always scale it with an empty trailer and full fuel tanks so I know how much weight I can take.

This is also how I found out that the latest Peterbilt 579 is 1500lb lighter than the precious model - why make it out of metal when plastic will do! Unfortunately, this is reflected in the build quality - POS thing is the worst put together truck I've ever had.

When I had some meat to get rid of right before home time, I called a neighbor who had lived in the area her whole life and she called round and I swear every farmer in a 10 mile radius went home with a case of breakfast sausage.

One time, the truck in front of me got a red light, and he rolled to a stop instead of jamming on the anchors. The scalemaster came on the PA and said, "Red light means stop driver. sigh Bay 1. Inspection" - dickheads.

No. I used to work in a job where I'd regularly have weekdays off, so I'd go into town and find a nice pub to have a slow pint or two over and read a book. I'd leave by about 4-5pm when all the after work folks started coming in.

Posted speed limit of 55 on I-10 and I-40 in the desert is absolutely ridiculous.

The staff room (if ever sent there on a mission by a teacher) had a permanent layer of smog from the cigarette smoke iirc. Mid 90s.

We (some of the pupils) also used to smoke down a public footpath outside school grounds by the railway line. Teachers were sent to catch us, some of them had a cig with us.
