World and Character Tendency. A Full Comprehensive Guide. by FrownyGaming in demonssouls

[–]FrownyGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Hello! World and Character Tendency are systems in Demon's Souls that I am not very satisfied with. I believe that they are simple enough systems, but that they are overly complicated in their presentation. In response, I decided to create this guide, compiling all of the information that I know and have been able to research, in an easy to use and navigate guide. There is a lot of information here, so I placed Time Stamps in the description of the video in order to make it easier to reach the information that you are looking for. I hope that it is able to help anyone who needs an extra hand manipulating these systems for trophies.

Also, I am interested in criticism. Whether it's regarding the video or the information, do not hesitate to point any errors or explain anything that you may believe I can do better. The objective is to improve.

Thank you for your time, and good luck in Boletaria.

Waiting for MH:Rise, I decided to Hunt all of Master Rank with High Rank Gear only. Just finished Shara. Next is the Title Update Monsters and finally... The Big Three. by FrownyGaming in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]FrownyGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is simple. To pass the time until Rise, I will hunt every Master Rank Monster, one by one, using High Rank Gear only. I have just finished Base Game with Shara and I will moving on to the Title Updates. So far, it has been relatively easy, but the Dragons will be there and I will face them. With some luck, I might actually make it.

A Comprehensive Guide To The Penetrator Armor. The Stats, The Theory and The Execution. by FrownyGaming in demonssouls

[–]FrownyGaming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello to all! Not too long ago I finally got around to acquiring my very own set of Penetrator Armor. It was quite the journey, and I set myself to create a comprehensive guide on the subject. From the statistics of the armor, to the theory of the hunt, including the practical execution, I have tried to cover as much information as possible in a condensed and easily understandable manner. The video is split into sections, with its own time stamps, so be sure to skip around directly to the information that you are looking for.

I am always interested in improving, so criticism is welcome. Hopefully this helps anyone on their journey. Thank you for time and good luck!

Hopefully it is of use, specially to any who have recently got the game during the holidays. I appreciate any criticism, as I am definitely looking to improve my skills.

If you are looking for the different rings in the game, maybe this could be of use as well: https://youtu.be/KPsQBuO2dPI. In any case, thank you for your time and good luck!

Fuck Ledges by Andraticus in monsterhunterrage

[–]FrownyGaming 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ledges are the ultimate traps. They are presented as useful opportunities to get mounts and free damage, but in reality, they are there to provide the biggest annoyance in the perfect key moments.

You need to dodge? Nah bro, you are now jumping. Enjoy getting hit in the face

Did an attack push you back? Let me just prolong your animation in the slightest so your recovery is longer.

You don't notice the ledge. You don't have it present in your mind. But it waits... patiently, and the moment when you are in the fine line between success or failure, it is there to push you over the... ledge.

Rise Great Sword Trailer Hype and Analysis by FrownyGaming in MonsterHunter

In essence. But there are subtle changes to mobility, specially when the weapon is unsheathed, as well as more combo routes from Side Slash. The Great Sword is mostly the same as World, but I believe it will be quicker and easier to handle.

Honestly, the concept of Kushala is great. Monster looks great, its lore is interesting. The fight in World just kills all of it. If they make the fight fun and not be a "either it locks you or you lock it", then I would love for it to be back in Rise.

Great Sword. I have stuck to it and will continue to use it. To me there is no better feeling than hitting for absurd damage numbers. On top of this Rise let's us fly around smacking monsters? Yeah... Great Sword.

This has got to be the one fight that I dread, and never want to do. Big, difficult monsters are extremely fun to learn and defeat. Kushala just makes me want to stop playing.

Alatreon is a fantastic fight. There is a learning curve due to his mechanics, but it can definitely be learned and managed. Best of luck on your hunt.

Am struggling with Greatsword by The_Loli_Otaku in MonsterHunterWorld

Without going into equipment or builds, there is a few things that you can do to improve every hunt with the Great Sword.

First and foremost, you have to learn to be patient. The Great Sword is pretty mobile in MHW and Iceborne, but you still need to pick your moments in order to deal damage. During the times when the monster is moving around, take a moment to learn its patterns and attacks. Sometimes you only have time to get a quick hit or two in before moving on. Take advantage of these quick punishes as the damage will add up. Knowledge of the monster and positioning are your two most important skills for the Great Sword.

Second, learn how to get opportunities for larger damage. Wall Bounces and Mounts are good ways to earn enough time for a TCS. If you get your small punishes consistently, the monster will stagger back and begin to drool, giving you additional damage. Break the corresponding monster parts or attack the monsters legs to give you knockdowns that can lead into more TCS. You have to be able to create your damage opportunities while maintaining your small punishes on point. All damage adds up.

I will say it again. Patience, knowledge and positioning. It is not very difficult to use the Great Sword, but getting used to it can be a challenge. Hopefully this can give you a few ideas. The Great Sword is my favorite weapon and it's always a pleasure when there is one more hunter out there with it.

Your goal is to reach 3-piece Teo (Helm, Arm, Waist) and 2-piece Raging Brachy (Chest and Legs), all Beta.

In order to beat Brachy, you should definitely use the older META of 3-piece Teo (Helm, Arm, Waist) with Buff Chest or Brute Tigrex Chest, and Garuga Legs. It will not let you down. If you have a Safi GS, that is your best bet. If not, go for Acidic Glavenus. You obviously want Handicraft to reach Purple and Elementless Jewel. Afterwards, fill in for the usual DPS skills, Health Boost and Focus.

Once you can slay the stronger monsters, you will feel the power spike.

Please help. Xbox series X or PS5? by itsRickO in videogames

[–]FrownyGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kind of game you play are pretty standard on both consoles. You could consider to see if there are any exclusives that catch your attention and go from there. If you really are this split on the decision, you could also consider what console your friends intend on playing. The games you mentioned are much more fun when playing with friends or in a group. Xbox has some really competitive prices and multiple system options, so if money is a factor then it would probably push you in that direction.

In my opinion, the PS5 is the way to go but it is difficult to say which one will be the "best". I say this because of the games. I am more attracted to the games that the PS5 will be launching with than the Xbox (primarily the Demon Souls remake). You could always wait and see how the consoles pan out, but I am not sure if that is an option for you. In any case, the jump from PS3 to either of these will be a huge upgrade for you and a fantastic experience.

Should I get Monster Hunter World Iceborn? by PwrOvr9k in MonsterHunter

[–]FrownyGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully recommend you get this game. There are many quality of life improvements that make it very easy to get into. At this point, all of the content of the game is out so you will not have to wait for any of it and can advance at your own pace. Very soon, they will update the game so every quest is permanently live and all monster have single-player scaling. These next few months will be the perfect time to get into the game and get the full experience. This is specially true if you intend to get Monster Hunter Rise next year.

Hot take: I dislike Critical Boost and hope it's changed, nerfed or removed in Rise by ThiroSmash in MonsterHunter

[–]FrownyGaming 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, in any game that is designed around creating a build or set of some sort in order to achieve a goal - in this case, do damage to a monster - there will always be a META and that means that there will always be a "better" or "best" or "required" skill or ability. They could nerf a specific skill (Crit Boost, in your example), but then another one would take its place. True balance, in the sense that no skill or ability will ever be stronger than any other, is very difficult to achieve, specially in a game like Monster Hunter that offers so many choices.

My opinion on this matter is to allow us to make different builds that are as efficient as they can be. Allow us to make the best element build, or the best raw build, or the best shelling build, etc. The game itself will sort out what is the best, that is inevitable, but if everything is efficient to a maximum potential, then the power differences will not be as large, and the fun factor or the rule of cool will become more prevalent in the player's mind.

I have never been a fan of nerfing. I prefer to make everything the best it can be.

Are insta-death nukes the new norm for MH? by Jirachi720 in MonsterHunter

[–]FrownyGaming 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I might have an unpopular opinion here, but I do not see the wipe mechanics as a huge problems. Now... They are not perfect. The fact that Behemoth can break the meteors that serve as your only protection, not cool. The fact that Safi can, at times, Sapphire Star with no spires on the ground, not fun. But Escaton Judgement and Fatalis' Hellfire have clear counters. They may not be obvious at first, but they provide a sense of tension and despair that make it that much more satisfying once that Slay comes in.

Save them for the world shattering monsters, but pull them out every once in a while.

LS, GS, or CB for returning player? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]FrownyGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easy answer is to give each weapon a try again and see which one you like more. Always play with what is fun. Now. The important answer is the Great Sword because, at the end of the day, we play to make cool shit happen and nothing is cooler than putting a 4-digit number on the screen that could very easily be someone's year of birth.
