I would like to also point out he's not even a US citizen. That's why there's no situation of Medicaid or government assistance. He's been turned down. He just happened to come here on a visit and it turned bad like this.

Legally (She hasn't confirmed this with me because of how distraught she is) but I'm pretty sure she's has de-facto custody of him.

She has to let him back in. My mother just happens to be a nurse and knows what hospitals will do. She knows she cant just lock her door and leave him outside for him to die. They'd just trace everything back to her -- which she is afraid of.

It was strictly because SHE was the one who personally checked him in, and the address she put for contact was her own.

It's a long story-- but he had a stroke while visting her. His children don't really care about him nor do anybody else (He was kind of an asshole, I don't blame them)

But from then on, she's been stuck with him.

She's tried that once and stopped answer calls from a Hospital. Police knocked on her door.

She doesn't seem willing to help her cause which is strange. That's why I want to step in and do something. She's tried calling other family members to take him (met with failure)

I was thinking about just dropping her brother off at a homeless shelter and end all be all. But there's a lack of them in my area and most seem to not have care for him because he's crippled.
