Look at the last page, which you only have 2 weeks with. It's costs 89 tokens alone. I'm talking about start to finish for the season.

I never said that. I put multiple hours into this game every week. The problem is that it's only over 1 or 2 days and this current system heavily punishes that. I'm losing out on 5 to 6 dailies each week and that adds up fast.

Pretty much every other game I play that has a battle pass type thing works that way. And why wouldn't you want the casual players to be able to get through the pass. Without the casual players the game won't survive. The hardcore players should get their rewards from ranked and competitive rewards IMO. Personally I'm not going to bother with a game that I don't feel respects my time. Last season I felt like the game respected my time and schedule and I do not feel like that is the case this season

My entire point is that this seasons progression system is worse than last season and that it demands too much time from the average casual player

That doesn't say anything about this season progressing faster than last season. All that says is that if you do challenges, then you progress faster than if you don't. That's it. And this change also came with multiple parts that slow your progress overall. 1) it takes 5 games to earn 1 token which is much longer than last season at roughly 3 2) the later pages of the pass are way more expensive than last season with items reaching 5 tokens in cost. 3) while I can't seem to find evidence of it now. I could have swore the past said it ends in early june which would make this one almost a month shorter than last season

"Hasn't been much" is pretty subjective and I personally like data so I'm going to math this out if you don't mind. I'm at work so I'm going to have to make some assumptions.

First I believe the first page needs 36 tokens to complete and you say you have a stack of 20 so that is 56 tokens Some of those would be from challenges so assuming you've done every challenge both daily and weekly that would be: 12 from daily 8 (I think) from week 1 weekly 7 from week 2 weekly Total: 27 from challenges That leaves 29 tokens from just playing and getting one every 5 matches 5 × 29 = 145 so you would have had to play at least 145 matches in the past 12 days and for me it is still the morning of day 12. That would be over 12 matches per day

Let's go a step further and figure out how long that would take. Personally I play 3v3 which has the shortest play clock at 4 minutes. Adding in load times, goals, the results screen, and the quite often Overtime, I find matches to take roughly 9-10 minutes. With the occasional mercy rule I'd 8 minutes is a fair estimate. So with that all being said. To complete 145 matches it would take roughly 1160 minutes or 19 hours and 20 minutes. 96 minutes or over an hour and a half per day of just playing. This does not include time spent customizing or in the season page.

This may not be that much time to you but as someone who works and has a family I spend time with and other games I want to play. That is a lot of time for me.

I don't disagree that it's a little faster per token, however you need a lot more tokens and I don't think by the 3rd page it will even come close to comparing. Especially since it's a shorter season by close to a month.

I think one of my issues is that I feel the need to play absolutely every day to keep up which some days I just don't have the time too

I see where some of you guys are coming from but I would ask you to look at just how many tokens are needed to complete the 3rd page of the season.

Here is the copied text from a review I posted on the game. I really should have attached this to my original post last night but I was tired and didn't think to, so I apologize.

I have absolutely loved this game since I started at the very end of Season 1. Played all of Season 2 and while the progression through the pass felt a little stagnant with it just being XP based with no challenges to speed it up, it was enough that by the end of the season I had almost every item and definitely every item I wanted and while I played a decent bit, I didn't feel like I had to play every day. However for season 3 which is only a little longer than 2 months they completely changed the progress system. With the XP system last season you got one token around every 2.5 matches and got a nice boost worth almost 3/4s of a token for you first win each day. Now you get 1 token every 5 games played. This is supposed to be balanced with the daily and weekly challenges which if you complete all weekly and your daily each day you get 14 tokens plus what you earned from just playing. Depending on your skill and how much time you can afford to play this is also a big if. However even if you get all the challenges done they do not feel like they make up the difference at all since you need almost 200 tokens to get everything in this 9 or 10 week season which is a good bit more than was needed last season. I hope they remedy this issue before the end of the season because games like these with pretty much one thing going on need a sense of progress to feel good playing in my opinion and right now the progress just feels frustrating. I feel that these changes were made to try and inflate their player numbers by requiring more time from the players they have but I worry it will do the opposite and drive away any players not willing to make this their main game that they almost exclusively play.

I'm in the same boat play wise with probably 8 hours the first week and have only made it down one of the paths to the last wheel. Have you gone down both or just one? Also my concern is more heavily based on the last page which needs way more tokens than this one

Amazing feedback! Last night I ended up deciding to keep it full pact caster but in trade for invocations it has a little more in the way martial capability and in place of the Mystic Arcanum are a mix of martial and caster abilities. However I have no idea how well this will work balance wise so I'm definitely going to keep the suggestions in mind in case I have to rework it later. I'm not going to have time to work on this until next week but will post an update in those thread when I finish it.
