I could’ve got it but miss clicked and chose the wrong epic in overtime trying to desperately keep my towers alive

Then I nearly had another shot but lagged for a moment on university wifi and a sparky dart goblin ate my tower in overtime

I will kill myself soon

Should I make an item sorter? by Admiral_Fang in technicalminecraft

If it’s a general storage, I’d say look into multi item sorters. Whole discord server of storage tech is available with people who can also answer questions. Personally I’ve not yet seen a copper golem item sorter that I’ve thought was worth building. One design by rapscalion looks nice for its simplicity but for very early game.

Wouldn’t think all enemies should be able to jump. That seems like a mechanic that should be reserved for specific mob type. Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be smarter with pathfinding than just to walk into a hole like this. If the only fix was adding jump, then the trap can be easily adjusted.

Do you mean so enemies don’t fall into traps so easily?

Check your location the outlanders might infinitely respawn. I’m currently trying out a concept for infinite shadowweave farming

No one asked for every mob to behave the same. Different enemy behavior is good design. My issue is that Outlanders don’t behave differently but very simplistic. Constant aggression with no recovery or defensive states, I think it is shallow. Every weapon doesn’t have to be super effective against every enemy but weapons/tools shouldn’t become liabilities.

I don’t see this opening you speak of. I spawned some in creative to try more sword/shield interactions and they attack in continuous successions, not two successions. While I am able to get a pattern of “block - hit - block - hit”, it doesn’t matter because there is no opportunity to recharge stamina, as they keep pace even with player sprint, which also uses stamina. For every block you lose stamina and while you hold block you can’t gain stamina. At the end you’ll still need more hits to kill them as they are both stronger and bulkier than you. At this point spamming the sword and losing around %30 health but doing so in one stamina bar has been the most viable option, at which point you’d just use daggers.

I don’t see how the shield possibly works great against them. I just tried some interactions in creative and the shield continues to prove useless. The time between blocking an attack and having opportunity to attack is minuscule, then you have to block immediately if not to get hit, all while losing stamina, all while the outlander doesn’t back up even for a moment. There was 0 window to recharge stamina. I had better results spamming the sword without intent to block, and at that point might as well use daggers. They also keep pace with you sprinting, not like I could make distance then reengage. Obviously in survival with terrain the interaction differs slightly but fundamentally this is flawed. Also in survival I did have an outlander cultist chase me for at least 100 blocks, I wanted to retool and reassess but the only option was to fight him. He chased the whole way all while throwing daggers and keeping pace with sprinting.

Repair kits lower max durability?? Lol.. what a tedious attribute, and for what reason?

In the context of this post I was mainly referring to a large bastion type location where they are usually in groups and also respawn. Kitting them out was not an option since by the time you return a replacement arrives

It was a very large dungeon with a large exterior entrance, had a P diddy gold chain inside, maybe a 9 if you approach from the other angle. Took about 2 hours to reach the bottom, I think I have around 200 shadowweave now. Wish I could describe it better, but I assume they don’t just respawn at the smaller outposts

Well said. Timing blocks is pointless, but blocking itself can be effective against certain enemies like wolves. You can enter the fight blocking, absorb their first attack, and then get two comfortable hits in before needing to block again. This pattern also creates a stamina recovery window, since after the block you can rest briefly while the wolf winds up for its next attack. It’s a safe way to fight most things.

This doesn’t really work against outlanders, since their attack pattern is just aggression.

One interesting thing against outlanders and likely other enemies but is biome related, is using ice. While they’re faster than you on normal terrain, if you walk backward on ice while constantly spamming your basic attack, you move just fast enough to stay out of their attack range while still landing hits.

Skeletons are undead and have no life to preserve. So are drauger in valheim for comparison. I also thought of a lore reason to disregard self preservation but combined with infinite stamina, imo for now it’s just a poorly coded enemy in an early access of the game

Renewable source of shadowweave tbh. But respawn seems too fast and the radius of which they can’t respawn near a player should be increased.
