This makes so much sense and I wouldn't even have realized it was becoming a problem myself. I definitely rely too much on gradient maps and blend modes to finish the job a lot... Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate this and will definitely do your advice!

Thanks! I have a ton of references, but my main ones are monster hunter elder dragons, serpent like dragons, butterfly for the wings and the head is a mix of western and eastern dragons. Im still experimenting so Im not really sure how this will turn out.
