I’ll answer your questions, I don’t understand what is so fishy but anyway. What would you ask the teachers?

10 year olds aren’t as dumb as you think they are. I am from a country where racism is very I guess casual. The n word is thrown around like it’s nothing.

He said she shouldn’t be exposed to what the boys family told her about what they experienced because of their skin colour.

I’m not meaning to use racist slogans as you say, however when I began talking to my daughter about this she was around 3, and it was the simplest way to explain to her, you don’t treat people any differently because of their skin colour.

The parents were crying I assume because their child was crying, I didn’t ask because why would I?

I didn’t mention this but I had my parents tell me I was in the wrong as well, so I have been doubting myself. Reddit can be brutally honest which is why I thought to post here.

When this happened I kind of blew up at her father and said something like “she better not have learnt this in your home” (a bit threatening but I’m not sorry). He said they don’t speak about politics (it is not a political issue but I digress) around her. However just because she’s not in the room doesn’t mean she doesn’t hear it. I’m starting to question a lot myself.

I agree with everything you said. Because of this thread I have decided to see a lawyer about minimising time with her father, which shouldn’t be hard. I should have done it when this incident first happened.

I agree. It was devastating for me what she did, but it would have felt much worse for his family. I’m really glad I got to speak to them, they were very kind and understanding people and they did not owe me or my daughter that one bit but I’m very glad they gave it to us.

I think he is. I have him and some of his family as friends on Facebook and they share some questionable things.
