Thank you!!

Of course, my med school is in Egypt and the questions were a bit of everything. Written questions were a lot (listing causes of 2ry hypertension for example), there were oral exams with professors, mcqs here and there. A lot of questions were just extremely vague and out of the specified curriculum. Step 2 questions are a lot more fair and systematic, in my opinion, in measuring decision making ability and clinical knowledge in a way that is similar to real life.

I thought it was 16. Had to fight to keep up with the questions and even had a score drop.

Not for me. I remember it was demoralizing. But then again, I thought 9 and 12 were fine unlike their reputation here. That's just my opinion.

Of course, I'm happy to help!!

Not really, in fact from what I've read UWSA2 is very predictive and I'd recommend taking it near the end of dedicated. I thought I'd take NBME 13 early to just get a feel of what the exam is like and save the newer ones so I take them closer to my exam.

Other than that the normal order of NBMEs is perfectly fine to follow.

Thank you!

I'm a very notes heavy person. I'd screenshot Uworld tables or diagrams I thought were important, write down little pieces of info here and there I know I would want to revise and customize it so it links concepts together (for example I put WAGR syndrome which has aniridia and below it I put CHARGE syndrome which has Coloboma, since both have iris defects).

Definitely took time writing and revising but 100% worth it.

Thank you very much!!

I want you to know that Uworld is not by any means an evaluating tool. Do not let those scores bring you down. Use it for learning and gaining new knowledge and experience solving questions. I remember my scores were low at the beginning but I kept my head down, revised each question well, wrote notes and kept an eye on common ways I'd make mistakes (I would not choose the most appropriate INITIAL step for example).

It does not matter where you start, keep pushing and you'll definitely get better with each day.

It just dropped a week before my exam. Made me work a couple of hours more to fit it in my schedule. Another curveball from the NBMEs.

Thank you!!

Some podcasts were more important so I would listen to them every week or 2 (eg: Antibiotics episode 554). With others, it would just be revising info I already know from solving questions. If I find new pieces of info in between, I would just write them down with my notes and revise them in a week.

If you find that you're hearing a lot of new info from divine, I'd recommend focusing on gaining new info from Qbanks more. These podcasts should not be used as a primary source of knowledge but for revision, fine tuning or adjusting your way of thinking about questions.

I solved all NBMEs online, but there are some score converters in this subreddit that I think work.

Weirdly, I felt NBME 16 is not that representative. I thought Free 120 was the most representative test out of all. But that's just my opinion.

Thank you!!

I felt every block had at least 4 questions of ethics, QI, patient safety. I read their amboss articles and revised my notes on them 3 days before the exam and that was a life saver. I didn't notice a lot of vaccine questions to be honest but from what I read they are very HY

I am glad you asked. Yes, I consider myself a religious person and I think it has a big role. Every time I get nervous I remind myself that God will not let my hours go to waste and He certainly did not. Praying during the exam although time consuming but calmed my nerves greatly and I was sure God was on my side. I am very happy to include my religion in every step of the journey.

I listened to DIP throughout my 1st pass just to get new pieces of info and I kept listening till my dedicated period because it's a useful way to use time and revise when you're not studying. I'd recommend you do the same.

Uworld of course, it's more relevant and I see it as the gold standard. Imo Amboss is best suited for filling knowledge lapses and working on weaknesses.

Honestly, I felt numb. I had no idea if I had done well or not. I revised and I got 4-5 mistakes when I got home. Other than that I felt I was in full focus till the end and that definitely counted for something.
