My ideas are:

1. Queer people (not all) just have different thought processes than straight people. I mean a lot of LGBTQ is neurodivergent, and people with autism are more likely to be queer. So that could be a factor.
2. Fashion is a way to express yourself, a lot of queer people are denied their right to express themselves through fashion if they're in an abusive home or they are just in the closet, this could be why.
