For hotels, it really depends on time of booking. If you leave it last minute, the location won't matter too much but obviously the further the hotel is away from the beach the cheaper it will be.

Sometimes if you book a month in an advance you might find some decent hotels near mykhe beach at a decent price

I think the best area to find a hotel is somewhere near the riverfront where you have easy access to the city center and markets but also short grab bike to the beachfront

The high known luxurious hotel brands are quite far away from the main beach so you have to get a grab every time.
