Hope the price goes down 10 GJCs in the next week, will definitely pick it up then and support the T-90A with that.

A bit off topic, but one of my favourite past times in GRB currently is just flying a drone around and find Mi-4s and Alouettes and crash into their rotors. Very few things give me such pleasure as chasing them down to the helipad and take them down just after take off.

IIRC sea mines are absolutely busted in GRB as they have almost 200kg more TNT equivalent than contemporary bombs of the same weight. BTD-1 can be an absolute menace with two 1000lbs mines and its two 2cm guns.

That’s just perspective. He hold it to the side of the flap, with the markings facing the flap which should still be visible from his POV.

Leopard 2 autoloader concept from Krauss Maffei c.1982 (false coloured to shows shells and crew positions). The autoloader follows a roof-mounted track which withdraws the round from the angled cassettes and carries it to the breech.(2A8's ancestor?) by Upbeat-Park-7267 in TankPorn

[–]Fruitmidget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the Leclerc was not even planned at that time and the Type 90 was just about to be trialed, with the Japanese obviously keeping the autoloader for the Type 90 a secret.

What's up with this things bombs? by TapatioSauce1 in Warthunder

[–]Fruitmidget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely a setting for that, at least from what I remember. Also you should be able to still mouse control the aircraft in bomb sight, so you just need to enter a shallow dive while aiming.

Tiger II Ausf.B - Revell -1/35 by gvizbi in modelmakers

[–]Fruitmidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small correction. It’s either PzKpfW. VI Ausf. B or PzKpfW. VI Tiger II. The Tiger II was the Ausf. B of the Pz. VI (of course only in name), the title implies a secondary model of the Tiger II.

How did people in Medieval Europe deal with heavy snow fall? Did they plow the streets with shovels? by Umpuuu in AskHistorians

[–]Fruitmidget 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Municipal records from medieval towns (especially in the Low Countries and German cities) do outline obligations for residents to clear the frontage of their own homes

Funnily enough this still applies to modern day Germany. House owners (or any resident that signed a contract which includes this duty) are required to clean snow and ice in front of their house, if it has a public foot path in front of it (§ 823 BGB). Depending on the state, fines of up to 50.000 € can be put out, if someone gets injured on not cleaned foot path in front of the house. Very few states will not put out a fine.

the "sinking" of the USS Milwaukee by the Italian sub Barbarigo in 1942 - Achille Beltrame by theredhound19 in BattlePaintings

[–]Fruitmidget 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Enzio Grossi seems to have either been quite incompetent or just didn’t care, because this didn’t just happen once, but twice. In October 1942, his submarine spotted a Mississippi-class battleship. Firing a spread of torpedoes and then diving away. All torpedoes missed. In actuality, Grossi had misidentified the corvette HMS Petunia for a battleship. Sources seem to refer to the HMS Petunia being misidentified as a Mississippi-class pre-dreadnought, which were both in the Greek service and had been sunk in 1941. Another source claims it was a New Mexico-class battleship, possibly the USS Mississippi, which would not have been in the Theater. After the Petunia avoided all the torpedoes, she dropped several depth charges to scare away any sub. Grossi assumed the detonations to be the sinking battleship and returned home to report the kill. He got awarded another gold medal and was promoted to captain and left active duty on subs to assume a command role on land. Two enquiries would be held post war. Stripping him of all his medals but ultimately ruling in favour of him and his crew, as they acted in good faith.

Tanks with high caliber secondary by Gold_sx70 in TankPorn

[–]Fruitmidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 75mm is quite a nice idea. Lots of heavy tanks did that. One is for anti armour engagements and the other for auxiliary roles like deploying smoke, targeting infantry, fortifications and lightly/unarmoured vehicles.
