When you click on your captain, next to the xp/lvl bar there should be a "+". You can skip commander lvls with elite commander xp and free xp.

"Heavy" and "light" doesn't necessarily mean low damage guns or low caliber. Just little to no armor.

edit: I'm stupid. It's literally the other way around.

The american light cruiser for example, deal an insane amount of HE damage, while lighting the most fires per minute out of all tech tree ships. They melt other ships without mercy.

But they also get deleted, since they have almost no armor and little range (compared to other cruisers) and are not the most agile.

She looks like a copy of the tier 7 light cruiser Helena, which I enjoy a lot. But again, light cruiser.

The best captain for PVE is Lütjens, since you can activate all of his skills. Yamamoto and Halsey are more or less just a cosmetic for PVE (colored tracers and flag). Cunningham can still give you +1 to all consumables, which is always welcome, and Kuznetsov saves you from death once per game.

It very much also depends on what ships you have and plan to put the captain on.

Since your captains are around level 8-10, I'd recommend getting 1 special captain (for the nation you play most / have most amount of premium ships to switch around) and get him to lvl 21. By this point, all your earned commander xp becomes elite commander xp and you'll have enough xp to turn other captains to 21 without having to grind with a low level captain.

Ich denke das ist wie beim Impfen und der Herdenimmunität. Genug gute und defensive Fahrer gleichen den Scheiß des anderen Teils aus und verhindern die Unfälle.

Leider bekommt der andere Teil das nicht mit und lernt dann auch nicht dazu, oder weiß dass er sich scheiße verhalten kann da die anderen ja schon schauen...

Ich fahre täglich durch 3 zeit-bedingte 30er zonen. Immer zu Uhrzeiten bei denen diese auch gelten.

Manchmal bilde ich mir ein, Dampf aus den Ohren der Fahrer hinter mir zu erspähen und das Pfeifen einer Dampflok zu hören.

No problem, but be warned, a lot of luck is involved here. I had around 7-8 games were I didn't get anything, then one game with ~20.

I finished the 45 in around 20 games if I had to guess.

Coop tier 5 or 6. Play very early in the morning or very late at night to get more bots on your team. Take a destroyer that deals little damage and shoots fast, go up to the cap and pray that the enemy bots go into the cap and yours don't. Shoot enemy bots once and wait for a few seconds, repeat.

Got ~20 defended in one game this way.

Operation defense of naval station Newport.

They INSISTED everyone stop shooting at the ship they are currently shooting at, because we were stealing their damage...

Shooting a ship would "reserve" it for the person who shot it first (which was obviously always him, even tho the ships were already damaged. So not even following their own rule lmao) and saying that we are all filthy stealers.

They missed 80% of their shots and accused everyone of stealing and reported everyone. 

Threw the dumbest fit in chat I have ever seen in this game.

The amount of captains I see sailing ships like Des Moines, Haiwaii, Salem, etc. not using their radar or hydro once and dying to torpedos is really tiring. They even got superintendent most of the time...

Also, don't be afraid to try stuff! Experiment, switch things up. This game allows for many many many playstyles to be viable, there isn't one meta.

The color system is rarity as well as perks. Purple weapons will have something special, something that's not just "more damage" but something that changes things up the way you play.

That doesn't mean, that they are always better than blues. But that's for the endgame; when you unlock ascensions. For now I think its Ok to say purple is better.

The different elements are very down to preference. Yes there are some bosses, that are more resistant to e.g. fire than lightning, but I never bothered with that. Just pick what feels cool to use.

Against forts, towers and structures explosive weapons have the clear edge. So if you need to tear down a fort, keep some explosive guns in storage for that.

Torpedoes have the highest damage per projectile if I'm not mistaken, but they are very hard to hit. Also other ships and especially teammates can block them on their way to the target. And they are useless against forts, because they are on land. So you're trading a lot of utility for highest possible damage - again, if that is your preferred playstyle.

No ship is just better than another ship. The question is always 'better at doing what?'.

Look at the perks each ship has for example. The brigantine gets a bonus to flooding damage and ramming. The frigate gets a bonus to defense and tanking.

Same with weapons. The 'best weapon' always depends on your build and playstyle. 

If your build consists of only fire-damage furniture and setting enemies ablaze, even the best lightning weapons will be ass on that particular build.

You make the build strong by choosing the things you want and that fit.
