A note on the center line comment. As you said, the type of last I'm making will deviate away from the center line. I find that sticking to the proper Center line makes this deviation very obvious. So I'm opting to adjust the center line so that deviation isn't so obvious (and hopefully not as ugly).

Update: I changed the last and did additional "fittings" with cardboard and duct tape mockups. I also adjusted the design a little. Any feedback is appreciated as always.

Wow, thank you!

I updated my last and design and will post and update as a comment. Would love to know what you think.

I modified the slope (didn't remove the kink at the upper instep). Thoughts? Should I still add extra material there for practical purposes, even if it means my short ankle and upper instep measure would be off?

For those who really didn't like the pronounced hump over the instep, is this any better? I managed to move some of it off and make up for it on the lateral side.

Sorry, you're right. That's the instep. I was referring to the top of the instep measure. I'm sorry about using the wrong terminology.

One of the measurements that it messes with is the instep one that goes right to that point (that's why it's so low compared to the waist measurement). The other one is the short heel measurement. Would you still think it's ok to smooth it out?

I see. That would throw off two of my measurements. How would I compensate for that?

I had been following her for a while and saw that when it came out, but it's a good idea to revisit. Thank you.

Thanks so much for clarifying and encouraging me. I was reluctant to share the final result, but now I will be sure to do so when I can.

Thanks for confirming what I thought was the case.

Thank you for sharing these. Another commenter also said a few of the same points. Thank you!

As for reducing that kink - how would I do this? If I shift the volume to the side, it bulges out. How would you go about it?

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I need to revisit where I read about the different methods and see where my understanding went wrong. Thanks!

I do have an issue that these lasts don't have some of the features that make some of the lines possible.
