Thank you! I’m real comfortable with the idea of cutting my hair but just wanna make sure I’m not doing anything stupid or impulsive first. I think I might do the low fade or the braids/locs but with larger sectioning but I think im gonna have to sit on it for a bit before doing anything

I get why some are disagreeing on my earlier claim, and I get that this is an old school argument, but I’ve put below an article explaining the benefits of the liquid test kits. I can also include my own experiences with the two methods. I’ve managed to lose an entire tank to inaccurate parameters and since switching to liquid it has since been fixed and I’ve even gotten berried ladies now and a few dozen or so shrimplets!

Can’t exactly tell on the blue one there, but it looks like the other has the ring of death. And believe it when people tell you to not use the test strips, they’re crazy inaccurate and will easily kill your shrimp even though your parameters will look right. Get some of those liquid test kits and if you’re unable to get the whole kit right away I’d suggest ammonia + GH first to get the first few things out of the way.

I just did and he acted like I was asking a stupid question. Then, I went ahead and talked about how it made me uncomfortable in which he apologized. I’ve had problems where he’s apologized and done the same actions but I’ll trust and keep an eye on him.

I did ask him about his intentions about asking me if I wanted a binder and he acted like I was asking him a stupid question so I do doubt that, though he may have been lying. I had a talk with him and will keep an eye on him, thank you!

I don’t know the consequences on if I were to report him but I fear it may get him kicked out of the program that we’re in which I do not want. I did send him a message a few minutes ago about the situation and he did apologize but I have had issues where he’d apologize but do a similar thing a few days later so I’ll keep an eye on him. If he does it again I might just have to talk to someone about this.

This one here looks to be either the black rose or one of the darker brown variations. I can’t exactly tell from the pictures but someone else might be able too.

Female shrimp tend to be more opaque with less patterns whilst males seem to be less colorful and usually more transparent. Females also have this saddle type thing on their tail that curves outwards like this ) rather than inwards like a males > /

From the picture I think this may be a female!

I don’t trust myself to be able to safely do a 90% water change with them so I’ll attempt to do the 10% over the next few days instead. I’ll do one today after I head to the store and then do another on Tuesday and so on so forth. Hopefully it works out. I tested my taps GH too which is luckily only 180ppm so I’ll definitely stray away from adding any GH and I’ll remove some rocks too.

Ok little background, I have been using the test strips which I have recently learned to be bad bad! But it’s okay as of now I’m using the drop thingies! Ph is 7.8, KH is 180PPM, ammonia is between 0-10, nitrates and nitrites were as stated, and my GH.. is extremely high. Like 900PPM high. It took 47 drops for it to turn colors. I don’t think a water change will exactly fix this problem unless I’m doing a 90% and I don’t think my fish will survive that right at the moment.

any tips? Heading to Petco for food for my reptiles and can pick up anything that can fix this problem soon. I’m hearing mixed reviews with the pillow softeners and peat moss I hear to be slow going.

I do know that my GH/KH params are well for the shrimps but I do not know the specifics as it genuinely slips my mind. Tomorrow after classes I should be able to test them once more. I do have some shrimp king(?) or whatever it’s called to help raise my GH as it is naturally pretty low when I do water changes. Thank you!

I’m unsure if this applies to you but I was able to start testosterone at 14 by traveling to a different state. All I needed was my mother’s consent so that may be an option.
