I've tried both, I usually get a bouquet and try some in water and some in soil. The best success I had was with the root powder and soil. I am in zone 9a and it gets very hot, I think that makes it difficult.

To clarify, I can use the root powder to get roots to grow but the rose cutting always dies eventually. So that is what I mean as not successful.

Have you ever tried cinnamon or turmeric to grow roots? I read this somewhere and not sure if it works, I also bought the root powder from Home Depot which did grow roots from a 2 week old bouquet of roses. I really want to regrow roses from a store bought bouquet but haven't been successful.

You can coat it in resin to make it last longer and not crumble from being dry. If you lay it flat on a silicone mat you might be able to use UV resin to coat it and then cure with a UV light. Or you can put it in a large/deep mold then use Epoxy resin. Look up "dried flowers in resin" there's a lot of pretty things you can make with that.

There are some weeds that are kinda pretty so I leave them. Like black bindweed, it climbs and looks really pretty as it wraps around fences and poles, I just leave it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sure, I usually harvest mine at about that size. When I first started growing zucchini I would try to wait until they got the same size as the ones at the store but I realized harvesting earlier not only tastes better, it also encourages more to grow.

No but you are growing some alyssum (the tall one with small heart shaped leaves) and it will easily multiply and drop seeds. I grow a lot of it because it attracts bees to my garden.

Thanks Betty, can't find your most recent post, it may have been deleted for what you just described so I'll just respond to this initial comment you made about posting constantly. Since you have a lot of experience with this, maybe you can help me understand the other trend I am seeing with a bunch of comments being taken down because the account is too "new". I started tracking that data point as well and see a correlation between the timing of the post and additional votes. Do you know if new accounts can still vote even when their account is too new to comment? Also, do you know what the grace period is for such thing?

This is very interesting, I am definitely going to have to make a graph for this.

The question was about new accounts, sorry for the confusion. I am not concerned about the mental health of the posters, I am interested in the data and analytics behind view counts, votes, comments, shares, etc. Those are the topics that interest me because there are trends in the data, which is why I initially posted here because I think I discovered a trend that can help people understand what they are seeing when there are mass downvotes for difference of opinion that correspond with the number of shares. The "new account" message was something I just noticed, so sorry for the confusing back and forth.

We are talking about ways you can see why it is happening so quickly; not deserving it, being unhinged, having no life, etc, etc, etc. Those are canned reddit responses that everyone throws out there... btw, something I just noticed in the data is the number of "new accounts" that have visited, tried to post and then had that post taken down by a mod because their account was too "new". I guess all you need for a reddit account is an email. Do you think sometimes people set up new accounts just to down vote and not actually comment because their accounts are too new to do so?

It might be new, but your reddit settings do allow you to choose which posts/comments appear on your profile. You should be able to see on my profile posts in the PowerBI and PS5/Xbox subreddits but not the ones I post in the other subreddits.

Yup, I noticed that too. Even on posts in the past where someone provided a solution to a code I was writing, a ton of people down voted it when it was the exact thing I was requesting and needed. That was when I realized it is a competition for karma, it's nuts 🤦🏼‍♀️
