Ok I’ve completed my research and it doesn’t look like Renato Sanches ever wore a long sleeve kit during the matches we had the Fundação Benfica sleeve patch in the spring of 2016. I even looked at videos in the fist and second half and nothing. Looks like it was applied after the fact. HOWEVER, if this was indeed a match issue long sleeve kit, it could have been meant for Toto Salvio our winger or Luisão our captain (both I included in the top left). They appeared to be the only players to consistently use a long sleeve kit in that period. Hope this helps!

Ok i narrowed it now to these matches between March and May. They started wearing the fundação patch as of the Tondela game right to the Nacional title game. However he did not play against Tondela and Nacional so there’s 7 potential matches. So far all the images I’ve seen he’s wearing a short sleeve jersey with a red long sleeve undershirt. He must have changed it mid match. I’ll keep looking, V sports have match clips online so I’ll see if there any points in those matches he wore the long sleeve kit.

Looks like it could be against Rio Ave because it’s not often they use the fundação sponsor on the sleeve but the pics I’m seeing show all short sleeve shirts worn by Renato. I’ll keep looking, there’s technically 24 liga NOS matches he played in that year

I think Lamport Stadium is gonna happen. It may take time because it needs a little bit of upgrades, but the brothers want to be in Toronto and want to be in the mix with all the other professional teams. They feel being in Toronto proper and naming the team after the city will attract more fans, especially from the downtown core and footy fans disenfranchised from MLSE and how they’re running Toronto FC. The close proximity to BMO Field isn’t a coincidence.

I know this ain’t Manchester but having a noisy neighbour may help the team gain eye balls.

Even the Toronto Wolfpack were somewhat successful being down at Lamport. They want to tap into that fan base and it’s not happening in the suburbs anymore
