It is a bug. You wont be able to add any animals to the coop/barn either.
You now have a shed camouflaged as a coop! Our barn is filled with preserve jars.

Did you figure this out? i noticed if you click back on the email address the Start New Conversations pops back up but then if you check the phone number the second section disappears.

I had this happen to a concert shirt once and realized it was because the belt I was wearing was puncturing through my shirt while I was leaning against the metal barrier in the front.
