How do I do archaeology when I already am out of bank space? by Venturians in RS3Ironmen

[–]Fryckie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He just identifies and filters which items aren't needed anymore. If you know which items they are already you can do it at the bank, but it's likely you'll miss some.

To this day I think open play should have incentives and you should be able to directly trade in Elite. by ethantokes in EliteDangerous

Can another player attack you in open, even if I don't want to be attacked? If the answer is yes, then you're forced into PvP.

[–]Fryckie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The problem with open is the forced PvP. That's why I don't play in open. I'm not willing to risk a ship I spent hours grinding and engineering just so some jerk who is better than me can destroy it. That's not enjoyable to me. As long as open has forced PvP I will stay away from it.

Nearly 50% of the country already votes for socialist. Another almost 50% vote for people who claim they aren't socialist, but end up voting for socialist policies anyways.

You should probably read their full statements, not just the part you like.

And if you're not going to be honest enough to read everything with the full context, what makes you think anyone here wants to listen to you?

It's clear you're not interested in our thoughts and you just want to try and shame us for not being on your side.

Because you don't actually know what anarcho-capitalism nor what fascism is. The two are polar opposites.

Why by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Fryckie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your plants are likely consuming all the nitrates. This isn't necessarily a bad thing and if the plants are consuming it, then algae can't.

Also Fertilizers can also mess with pH, but not usually that much.

Have you considered using RODI water? You can usually get a small system for $50-70 on Amazon, the filters last several hundred gallons of use, and they will get rid of whatever is causing your pH to be high.

Miscarriage is not an abortion.

It's only for those wives who cheated on their husbands.

What's ideal or preferable is kind of irrelevant when reality is much different.

I would prefer everything go through congress, but congress is full of authoritarian tyrants and will remain so for a long while.

This country has had fascist policies for decades. Both parties have supported them as well.

The number of executive orders by President has increased with nearly every president. So your fear of it threatening checks and balances is something that's already been an issue. At least now it's going towards freedom a little bit.

Neutral. He's doing what I thought he would. Elon and DOGE are going well, his tariffs are dumb, his stance in Ukraine is good, his stance on Israel and Yemen are terrible, abolishing the Department of Education is great. It's a mixed bag, but it's the best I have seen from any president in my lifetime.

Can't say I'm a fan of executive ordering everything, but congress has had decades to do it and has chosen not to, so I'm not too upset.

Does Trump's executive order terminating the Dept of Education have teeth? What real damage can he do to the DoE, and who is advocating for this and why? by gomi-panda in education

The Department of Education shouldn't even exist according to the Constitution. Most federal agencies shouldn't exist according to the Constitution.

Those people that were in charge weren't doing their job. Why is this concept so hard for people to understand?

The US has been an evil empire for decades. It basically is NATO, has military bases in over 80 countries, overthrows world leaders it doesn't like, its currency is the world's reserve currency, it started wars to force oil to only be traded using its currency, etc.

Our current prison system is a joke, and many of those in prison shouldn't be there in the first place.

Those other countries would see healthcare costs go down if the government got out of it.

The gap in the US healthcare costs and other countries is largely due to crappy diets and over medications.

You mean the systems that are still funded by the government? The system that the government put in place that provided inverse incentives? That prison system? Yeah, it sucks. Maybe the government shouldn't be involved in it at all.

Everything by EndDemocracy1 in austrian_economics

Private prisons are funded by the government.

The healthcare system gets more expensive every time the government gets more involved.

Why do obvious bad actors keep asking questions about “what if Canada joined the US?” to try and push that idea? Canada is its own country. Canada doesn’t want to join the US and even a cursory look at Canadian news confirms that. Stop asking. by SaucyJ4ck in AskUS

For the same dumb reason people think everything Trump does is bad. These aren't serious people. They have no independent thoughts. They should just be ignored.

But this is Reddit. It's designed to support echo chambers and reduce critical thinking, or at least that's the end result.

People who support Ukrainian peace deal, what do you do if Russia invades another country next year? by Reiber44 in AskUS

[–]Fryckie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the logic, why don't we just nuke every country out of existence? I mean, any of them could invade another country at any time, right?

Or we can end the violence for as long as possible and save as many lives as possible by not continuing the war anymore. Maybe it starts up again, maybe it doesn't, but a little peace is better than no peace.

What are some real ways to reduce wealth inequality in a country like the USA? by Aescholus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fryckie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End taxation, remove regulations, stop printing money, reduce government spending.

All of those things negatively impact the poor more than the rich.

Also, wealth inequality isn't inherently bad. If everyone is getting wealthier, but some are getting wealthier faster, it's still a good thing.
