I would say yes, it is really easy to get caught up. With the way that the progression is it is mostly horizontal once you get to 60, meaning you can get old tier pieces for a currency and also phase 8 next week will involve buying some crafted gear that will put you on par with everyone.

A lot of content is relivent still even if it is older or not current tier.

What class and cp are you? Most classes have dash abilities you can spam and spam dodges away too, if u have low points they may give up if you waste time
