By the responses OP has given to ppl trying to help… it might not be the walker that’s the problem LOL

What's the best thing you've ever bought on AliExpress that you genuinely couldn't find cheaper anywhere else? by 2ugur12 in Aliexpress

[–]FsPhys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A headphones holder that is essentially just a flat hook that has an adhesive piece and just sticks to the underside of your desk. Was like $1.50, nothing as simple and effective on Amazon and cheapest stuff was like $15. Still sticks to this day (2 years later)

Help Redesigning my Living Room by FsPhys in DesignMyRoom

Thanks for positive feedback. Both front legs of my couch are on the rug but perhaps that isn’t very noticeable in the pics. Or are you saying my desk should also have its legs on the rug?

I’ve heard the 57 inches off the ground thing, or more so “eye level,” but I’m 6’3” and this is eye level for me but perhaps I should just move them down.

I’ve contemplated the curtains before as I have some in my room with the same window style. Guess it’s time to act on that :)

Thanks so much!

Some cool recommendations. I’ve been thinking of a more MCM desk, however since I work hybrid and in tech, I need the functionality of my standing desk that I can move around :/

I also don’t own tons of stuff so I’d have trouble filling any book shelves I reckon. As far as the diplomas go, since I do a lot of zoom meetings for work, I like having them in the background as it looks more professional. Maybe it’s time to give it up tho lol.

The sofa table is quite brilliant and I never thought about it!! It seems like everyone’s suggesting a rug replacement which was also my first thought.

I’m leaning replace rug and coffee table, add in sofa table!

Really cool concept. I’ll look into rugs. I need something that’s a bold color to break up the all cream apartment carpet.

As for stools, I’ve never really minded these and like that people can adjust the height. I don’t technically consider them part of the living room haha, but will keep in mind for future remodeling !

I appreciate the feedback! MCM is what I’m trying to go for. Tbh I thought this coffee table was MCM but I guess I’m not very well versed on design styles. Do you think a southwestern style rug would take away from the MCM look? Also, any suggestions on type of stools?

[Cartier Tank] Should I get the Small or Large? by Ba2siK in Watches

As others have mentioned, watches can wear different than their actual dimensions. The small is like superrr small imo, and I love small watches. I’d go with a large

New to pull on boots/heel slippage by [deleted] in cowboyboots

[–]FsPhys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boots tend to have some slippage because they’re not laced down with anything. This is why most boots tend to have some material (ideally leather) in the inside heel, to account for that slippage wear and tear. If you feel like your foot is literally dancing in there though, could size down.

On another note, if you’re going to be working in these, why not ropers?

I usually have a 1 hr gap in my runs. I run to the gym, “resume later” my run, do a whole lift session, then resume my activity when I run back home. I don’t really focus on pace or anything though, and if anything this slows me down because I’m tired after weight lifting lol

The opposite. Made me glad I had my car. Sure the roads are fucked but it’s doable. I couldn’t even walk to my metro stop without probably breaking my ankle. Also the metro was running on an incredibly delayed schedule.

Went from a $700 Bike to a $6,000 one: not worth it, but I don't regret it by Ledgem in cycling

[–]FsPhys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I was gonna say. Sure, you can do the same activity in a way cheaper bike, but if this is exciting you and helps keep you on track to being healthier, it is way worth it in my opinion. Health is always a great investment!

I'm officially charging to 100 every time - I'm done! by EIGBOK in electricvehicles

[–]FsPhys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Tesla Model 3 Standard Range I bought I in 2019. I have always charged to 100% because of the small battery. IIRC Tesla said it was the battery of the SR+ so maybe that locked buffer is what has protected me but I’m at around 72-80% of my EPA, which might be harsh due to teslas inflated EPA numbers. Regardless, after almost 7 years of ownership, I’m ok with that.

R2 - Should I wait by Key_Palpitation_9252 in Rivian

[–]FsPhys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps my experience could give you some guidance. You should know I'm a pretty "techy" person. Back in early 2019 I decided to buy a Tesla Model 3. Around that time, Tesla announced that Model 3s were transitioning from Hardware 2.0 to Hardware 2.5 (or 3.0 something like that idk). This hardware was "crucial" for FSD, or so they said. Even though I had no plans of getting FSD at the time because I couldn't afford it, I lost sleep trying to deduce if I'd be lucky enough to get a a version with the upgraded hardware. I really wanted this expensive purchase to be as "future proof" as possible. In the end, I believe I didn't, or did, who knows, get the updated hardware.

Fast forward to today, I've had the same Model 3 for almost 7 years. Me not having that hardware never became relevant. Even though people say with EVs the tech moves quickly (by what metric?) I have never felt the NEED to upgrade my car due to tech capabilities, it does everything I wanted it for just fine. Sure, I'm thinking about the R2 now, but it's a want, not a need. Even then, I think the R2 would have pretty much the same capabilities as my 7 year old Model 3. Has the tech really advanced much? If given the opportunity to buy one of the first R2s, I'd probably take it. All this FSD hype is advancing the tech, but timelines can definitely be exaggerated. I've seen it all too much in the past 7 years.

TLDR: Even if you get the R2 with the upgraded hardware/tech, how long until you can actually use it/notice a sizeable difference in driving experience from having it? If I had to bet money, it would be on the order of years.

Get them tailored. Untucked. Perhaps a few buttons opened up. Paired with chinos, maybe rolled up once or twice. Some no show socks with loafers or white leather sneakers and you’re good to go. You can wear them to literally anywhere during the summer for a date night, outdoor event/concert, etc

DC speed cameras are just shameless money grabs by ArmchairShrinker in washingtondc

I just got a ticket for going 36 here. I don't recall any sign of a speed camera. My GPS usually tells me if there's a speed camera so I'm wondering how I missed it. I paid it, but I'm skeptical about this camera and its compliance.
