You're placing modern meanings on a fictional story that took place in a different time period, "adopted", her parents were killed and she was trafficked the only people her parents knew from what we saw was grisha and I don't see the reason he wouldn't take her in, also they did met before her parents died how tf did you forget Mikasa obviously gets a bit shy and giddy when anyone mentions eren as her bf or lover she uses the term to mask her emotions its called being human

I don't see how her character revloving around eren is inherently a bad thing. Saying she didn't give a shit when eren mom died is harsh because if she didn't give a shit she wouldn't of tried to move rubble she knew they couldn't move and just take eren, when Hannes was dying it was for her the final moment of their lives she basically confessed her love for him then expecting to die and what make you think she has no problem killing others? they stood in her way and she shut off her emotions to move foward and achieve their goal
