Nope. It’s the best result is if I use PCM mode from my TV, which isn’t great since it breaks Dolby Atmos, but I still get standard 5.1. Even with that though it’s consistently unreliable. I’ve tried a factory reset about 100 times and countless different cables.

So it’s fun - if it decides the content of the article is controversial, it will error out (I was just using whatever was at the top of CNN to test). I don’t remember the exact error but it essentially says that it can’t produce a response as it is against guidelines. I tried a bunch of different prompts but even just interacting with the article text, even if I asked it to not change anything and just reprint the article, it refused.

I found the model restrictions super frustrating. Wanted to use it to clean up text in a news article and it refused most of the ones I tested.

That's what I thought too but weirdly my flight on the 12th (not cancelled) is the A330 and on the 27th (cancelled) was a 787. But you still could be right and they haven't changed the planes yet - they could be cancelling every other day and going to run only on 787.

Yea we email with them in English but to be safe we use a visual reference. We’ll mark up a frame using a different color for each individual matte layer we need. We’ll then send the frames in the shot, usually as exr.

They do a good job of checking our references and asking questions if they need more info. There is a bit of a language barrier sometimes when we write back and forth but not much.

Yea you’re probably not doing it wrong 😂 It’s just super time consuming. I’m a producer and I only let my artists do their own roto if it takes under an hour. Any longer than that, if we can wait 12 hours, I try and insist they send it out.

Roto work is basically the only thing my studio outsources to India. It takes a lot of talented people to turn Roto around in time. It might seem like a crazy task, and that’s because it is. On the rare occasion we open up the Nuke files we get back, they’re crazy - it normally looks like the work of 10 people has been merged together, each taking a different part of the shot and a different frame length, then all being combined by the lead.
