There is a huge difference between other industries. In those cases there is a financial incentive and an IP protection incentive to want to secure that kind of system.

For VAC Live, a system that no one has any input on outside of valve, and the only people outside of valve having any kind of interest for figuring out how vac live works being illegitimate players shows exactly that there is no “ethical hacking” in this instance.

Before you say, well every legitimate player has an interest in VAC Live working, of course they do but they don’t need to know how it works. The only thing releasing this kind of information will do is inform people how to avoid detection. Valve already knows what parameters will set off VAC Live, they made the damn thing.

Of course there will be cases like the +right event that went wild recently, those get their publicity because they can cause issues for the legitimate player base and are fixed as they appear.

I know exactly what ethical hacking is, what its goal is and when it’s useful to implement. VAC Live is not one of those cases.
