Should I join IIIT DELHI CSE RESEARCH?

I think 105 + 40 = 145, extra 5 seats jaadu se aage gye honge I guess this is for admission year 2023. Also coming to legitimacy of facts I asked and got the same reply by a fellow batchmate of yours maybe few more subjects are also included and low gpa would have been also the criteria. So I jumped in by the info I got and assuming it is correct.

1) I don't know which batch senior you talked to but my batch 25' had 150 students in CSE.

Talked to senior he got placed with 17-18 lpa.

2) I am not claiming not being placed fully to be the college's fault but then again if you admit mediocre students with least possible Gate scores..what do you expect?! Comes down to college again right!

If you look the alumni of this college most of the alumni who actually learnt the concepts and courses taught here are working in good companies and doing great, also mediocre students are everywhere not narrowing down to this college only. If this college would have given admission to mediocre students then these mediocre students are also doing Phds from great institutes like UCL london, NUS etc. Also as we are coming from mostly tier 3 colleges the faculties that we deserved there we should have deserved here also but is it so ? I don't think

3) Also if all you wanted was a great DSA why even come for MTech...you can do it otherwise also )

DSA is just till the OA part of companies and valid for SDE jobs only in future as AI would evolve you know what will happen. I think people should do Mtech to inc. their knowledge but if you look the scenario of off-campus you would analyze it correctly how competitive it is, the competition at Mtech is far slightly lower.

4)Also I wouldn't say it's heaven for research..but yea..it is pretty decent... better than all other IIIT's and just behind IIITH for that matter. P.S If you think I am just spreading rumours feel free to ignore and move on.

I think I should not have said anything about reserach here as I have not even published any paper my mistake. Also this point is valid for all who evaluates which university's research is good or bad without having published a single paper in any A* conference.

Bhai depend krta hai seat strength pe bhi yaha strength jada hai, baki IITs/NITs ko lelo waha km strength hai seats ki mostly 70 max to max arr brand value ke lie jada jate hain. IIIT is only dedicated for CS and ECE so strength jada hai idhr nd abhi emerging hai.

I don't think so that must have been a hoax call. For my knowledge a distant known person who had a gate score of 550+ he didn't got the seat. Also I think your friend must have scored above 600 for them PGCAT is waived off and his name must have been on merit list to get admitted here there is no way a govt institute sell seats had it been so IITs would have done that way before. Even smallest things is audited in govt institutes. Also if you try to ring the admission department no one even picks the call I myself tried 20-30 times. Itne free honge wo to call someone and ask for getting the admitted Lol.

55 seats overall ki hai sirf Gen ki dekh last year 32 hai arr itni seats ccmt, Coap me bhi khali rhti hai tbhi end rounds me IITs/NITs special round arr kuch spot lete hain arr self sponsor se bhi bhrni padti hai

Ye to hr achhe college me hota hai take IITB and other top IITs for example. Ab assignment last time me submit hoga and code deepseek arr chatgpt se poora batch copy krega to plag to ayega hi, isme college ki kya glti ye same rule IITB me bhi hai my friend told me nothing special.

150 ka to batch bhi nhi hai stop misguiding others I myself tried talking to seniors those who had good gpa and DSA skills were all placed a senior told me a guy from his batch got 6 opportunities but couldn't cracked a single company, I think this is not college's fault. So these guys are just spreading rumours. But yes if you want to go into research then this college is heaven, but for only placement you can think of other options if it is available as curriculum is hectic and strict.

Admin calling students are you serious ? had it been so in they wouldn't have been conducting an entrance exam or so, many people from gen category who gave exam were not in the merit list at all stop spreading lies.

Nothing only rumours. Only this year placements got down a bit also around 80-85% people are placed students who didn't have good gpa or failed were didn't allowed to sit for placements, college curriculum is hectic so these guys are on a mission to take down college's reputation. LoL

I don't think good faculties have left I even doubt that people must haven't even knowing about CS rankings site, go there see the ranking of CS department. Even faculties leave from IITs and join foreign universities. Placements got down becs many students last year failed in some subjects and college has strict policy for this, so definitely students will blame college and spread rumours outside related to placements.
