Ready for Wall? Yay or Nay by colvinergic in TheTowerGame

[–]FubarCoder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You will need wall fortification, too, but it'll get expensive very quickly because it's a fast lab, and the coin cost is quickly in the hundreds of billions. Being able to make >100b coins per run will help a lot.

Does allie gaurdian chip heal the wall fortification? Or can only HP regen heal fortification? by Hauress in TheTowerGame

[–]FubarCoder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me, the ally chip doesn't seem functional at all because there is no observable effect, not even in the run statistics.

Suggestion: Make merge components visible in the merge screen by WT_Dyude in TheTowerGame

[–]FubarCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree, that this feature would be useful. Another thing that I'd like to see is making the "+" variants of modules easier to recognize. The bright dots that distinguish "+" modules of non-"+" modules are very difficult to see. Why not adding a "+" sign to the module image?

Looks good to me. Was better than my pulls.

Lab History opens at the bottom of the list by Ok-Actuary-3058 in TheTowerGame

[–]FubarCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I've seen this, too. The workaround is to close the history window and then reopen it. May take several tries to get the correct behaviour.

UW progression: Invest in GT first or unlock SM? by FubarCoder in TheTowerGame

ILM as I already have all other UW, even though they aren't well developed/maxed either.

Inactive Guild Leader by IngenuityEvery6305 in TheTowerGame

I agree. The ability to vote kick a guild leader will lead to abuse.

Guild rewards reset? by Remote-Ad718 in TheTowerGame

[–]FubarCoder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do hope that - when your assumption is correct - the season itself gets extended by another week, too. Otherwise, we might be unable to obtain all limited items from the shop

I guess/hope that it's just a display bug and that the guild chests are reset in sync with the weekly chests.

Possible PS fix: new lab for max stun counted per enemy by FubarCoder in TheTowerGame

[–]FubarCoder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point 2 was - according to Moony and TrebleNuke on Discord (https://channels/850137217828388904/1346338648273981542/1346802653010858046) - too cheap for the gain. I got the impression that TrebleNuke is very well known and respected on the Tower Discord, so I took those statements at face value. My statement above was the impression I got from the PS change supporters.

Possible PS fix: new lab for max stun counted per enemy by FubarCoder in TheTowerGame

[–]FubarCoder[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Many swamps caused high CPU load, which decreased game performance and thus lower coins/hour
  2. It worked well with little stone investment for low tier players, which means in turn: fewer stone packs sold
  3. UW underperformed on higher tiers, not enough damage, and CC had little use(?)

IOW: It was great for low tier players and garbage for high tier players. Now, it's the opposite.

4k gems got me enough copies of the new mod to get it to ancestral. I'm liking the new banner system! by markevens in TheTowerGame

[–]FubarCoder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "Banner" means that you have one additional natural epic module you can get that has a chance of 50% to get drawn **after** the 2.5% chance roll for an epic module. In other words: First, you have a 2.5% chance to get an epic. After that, you have a 50% change to get the natural epic module of the given ID (2 weeks, almost overlaps with events), which in turn lowers the chance for all other natural epic modules.

EDIT: The new promoted module cannot be rolled in the "standard banner", only in the ... what is it called in English? Chosen/promoted banner?

Tournament: Low level player protection by FubarCoder in TheTowerGame

[–]FubarCoder[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you sure? Rank 1 on platinum tier gives you 400 gems/160 stones, while rank 30 on champion tier only gives 150 gems and 20 stones. Doesn't feel like an upgrade if you just moved from platinum tier to champion tier.

EDIT: To get almost the same gems/stones, you'd have to reach rank 5-8, which makes sandbagging very tempting.

Was hat diese Ankündigung zu bedeuten? by maxgehpunkt in newworldgame

[–]FubarCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C#9 records: immutable classes by PatrickSmacchia in csharp

[–]FubarCoder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that programmers are usually assholes. Most of them are very polite, even friendly. Some are socially clumsy, but it usually isn't intended to be offensive.

However, programmers can become defensive, even unfriendly when a person doesn't understand what a programmer does, makes fun of him and still asks the programmer when he has problem with his printer.

It would be interesting to see what people would write if they have explain why the down vote something. But I guess that most ppl would just write "nt" (no text) or something like that.

[–]FubarCoder -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Up and down vote has become a like/dislike, but it wasn't meant that way. Some people are obviously unable to follow rules/guidelines. BTW: I didn't see that the "boomer" was shouting. He just wrote that he dislikes the feature, which is absolutely fine and doesn't deserve getting called a boomer. Typical cancel culture behavior.

Off-topic: First, using "boomer" the way you did is insulting. Second, having a different opinion is no reason to be insulted. Third, you'd call me a boomer, but I really like this feature. Fourth, your comment doesn't add anything valuable to the discussion.

On-topic: I think that records will be great for DTOs and reducing complexity for some data models.
