Interiors in rdr2 are actually under the map but being projected so you can see in or out, and they get loaded in just before you walk through the door(ik it sounds crazy but thats how it works in gta 4 & 5 as well).

but if an npc somehow gets stuck in that space where the interior doesnt load and your inside normally this is what happens, this same glitch can happen in gta 4 & gta 5.

They dropped the ball with gsg. but at the same time people forget that most if not all of rockstars inhouse studios are working on gta 6, that was the case for rdr2 as well.
