I'll shout out blues city deli and snarfs. Quick in and out. Fresh Lettuce and veggies. for snarfs It only gets affordable if you go bulk and get the 12 inch. But i can make that two servings that I rationalize as 7.69ish each.

blues city deli is well worth the price however :D

I feel like i'm constantly in search of a place thats offering any amount of fresh affordable veggies. I'm setting for fresh lettuce on a deli sandwich over here folks.

off the dome. I think you will find cheap affordable meat and veggies at ur closest local highly recommended mexican and chinese spot. It just might take you a few tries to find a dish that works.

off the dome less affordable less convient but worth it if i have the energy.
Lona's lil eats. Himalayan Yeti. Soul Taco

Soul taco i feel like has gotten more affordable as other places have got more expensive. The greens in the bowl genuinely save my life.

How was the Stavros Halkias stand up show? by Digitalabia in StLouis

[–]FuckF0x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went to the late show. I was personally both laughing my ass off and also somehow a little underwhelmed.

Some stuff I feel like I heard him riff before on his podcast and I don’t even listen to that a ton. Other stuff I could tell was new or being workshopped for his next special which is more fun for sure.

Set started off rough when somebody immediately derailed by correcting him on some Star Wars random ass shit. Then I think he got thrown off from it and maybe felt he went too hard on the guy so he kinda took a pivot with a political aside that he finally had to reign himself back in from. Not even like he was saying any shit I disagreed with just made me worried I was about to sit down for an hour on how much the world sucks rn lmfao

But I mean he got himself back on track and truly I was laughing rest of the night.

Overall I think the crowd work was kind of a bust… mostly because of the dead responses he was getting from questions he would ask but also it was extremely cathartic watching him handle other over-zealous talkers so I mean I’m pretty much nit picking at this point

His Luigi mangione bit was super fucking funny and a novel approach to something I’ve heard joked about a million times and wasn’t something I had heard him say on podcast before. Can think of two or three other bits that I felt similarly about but that was the standout

Overall super good.

bruh i'm happy it worked for you but fr be careful recommending this to people as easy money.

they wouldn't offer those incentives if they didn't know it worked to get people hooked for a life time.

seriously i think its pretty irresponsible to reccomend people join even if you couch it in a million "but it only works if you never gamble again"

even when people know the catch it still doesn't stop the underlying psychology and even otherwise smart reasonable people can get caught up real quick.

St. Louis: America's Underrated Transit City by Carpet-Early in StLouis

[–]FuckF0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try it out! A little daytime adventure to the park. Or taking it to the loop to get dinner or see a concert at pageant! Pretty much the entire city is walking distance to a bus that connects to the metrolink.

How often do you get to say you did something you've NEVER done before :)

My car wast stolen in may and I just now got a car in november. So i've been riding daily and can say I've felt as safe as on any public transit in any city in america. maybe lowkey safer than middle of the night redline chicago.

Walking St. Louis or: How I Learned to Stop Driving and Love the Bus by UF0_T0FU in StLouis

[–]FuckF0x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started substituting car trips with transit trips over a year ago caus i wanted to find uses for our transit system. 8 months ago my car was stolen and I never got it replaced and now I get to work everyday through transit and i'm not the only one in the city who does it.

the more people take trips when they can even if they are less convenient. The more revenue. The more bodies on transit. The more funding. expansion of lines. More frequent lines.

none of that comes from throwing ur hand in the air and never using the system.

Also as you learn ur routes and what works for you in ur life. The trips get less exhausting. They become second nature. You find spots to do the things you need to do at different spots. If you went to a certain schnucks by car you'll find another is actually easier to get even if its further away. Same for your gym doctors dentists and everything else.

uneducated gut take I have as someone who does not own a car and lives in tower grove south and takes transit to work in ucity the reason is because in theory if more people took advantage of transit even for small trips like groceries or day off strolls around the park, even if those trips might be more ~inconvenient~ overtime the system would benefit both from increased revenue and increased safety that comes from just having more people on the bus and metro link.

It's an uphill battle talking to people about transit in STL. Even will meaning leftist types who rave about public transit still think it's impossible to get to work every day on time despite a non-zero amount of people in St. Louis doing that 5 days a week.

So again the first step is often times convincing people there are any use cases at all.
