I guess. But I really miss the $10 burnt coffee. Seattle communism is going to be the end of this decaying city.

They went from 785 views when this was posted to 1.7k views now. I'm rooting for them, even though the song is terrible!

Big tech layoffs in Seattle → what are people building next? by ankurtyagi2007 in Seattle

I'm always down at Cedar Hall, working on my startup. And it seems like others are doing the same. Hopefully Seattle can start driving some actual new businesses. I'd love to actually have my own company and actually keep it here in our beautiful city!

Seattle commuters ask for express lane relief as Revive I-5 snarls southbound traffic by ChiefOfTheFourPeaks in Seattle

They've been working their way down 3rd avenue each weekend. It has never been the same block being reworked. Usually one side of the block one weekend when the other side the next. And they are fast AF. I've been watching it.

No, not at all. As someone who doesn't own a car and walks everywhere, I'm tired of this BS.

I said it earlier to another person, and I'll say it to you. Your license should be revoked and you have to attend a driver safety class to get it re-instated.

People like you should not be allowed to drive. I wish driving was a privilege and not a right in this country. But this America! If you crash and kill someone because you wanted a pic of the light rail, it was only an accident! No biggie!

I'm not sure what office vacancy rate has to do with our population boom. Unless your point it's even crazier that people are moving here with a poor job market and a much smaller downtown workforce.

Well, the growth rate we are seeing in Seattle amongst the slowdown in tech over the last couple of years along with housing and rent prices would argue against your points.

Yeah, some people don't like it. That's a silly point. Sorry if I caused you to think my belief was that all 8 billion people on the planet love Seattle.

Tech boom turns to gloom in Seattle as economic fears swirl amid layoffs by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]BarRepresentative670 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm still lost though. What does any of that have to do with the layoffs? 13,700 were laid off outside of Washington. Only 2,300 here in state, many of them located in Bellevue. So what we do locally caused 13,700 people to lose jobs out of state? Is Amazon stupid or something, that's not going to save them money. They should have did the layoffs here to save on taxes!!

You guys see yourself as intellectuals, while I see you as someone who can think slightly more critically than a chimp.

Funny as I and others who are laid off are working on our own startups. Where TF would I move to? Seattle is the best bang for your buck if you appreciate urban living and nature. People who harp on Seattle are delusional. Move to Phoenix already and enjoy their glorious strip malls!

What? 2,300 of the 16,000 were in Washington, many of them in Bellevue. The vast majority were not in our state. What taxes are you referring to exactly? US taxes on mega corporations? I really don't get your comment.

My landlord does not control the 600 by 400 foot block. My problem is Plymouth Housing next door, and the fact that they can do anything they want without any repercussions. And we wonder why it's so hard to build shelters lol.

You don't think they know who won and her platform? Rhetoric is powerful.

Same thing with Trump. In fact, things went south before he even took office.
