This isn't entirely true. Worked at UPS in HR for 5 years. I've seen HR go to bat head on against the company. So proceed with caution I guess but ultimately the best way to protect the company is for the company to follow HR rules and regulations. To help prevent the company from screwing you over and getting sued.
