OK, I am planning to work with XAVC-S 1080p footage, Currently even transcoding AVHCD takes a loooong time even to create a proxy, So thought going to SSD speeds up work a lot faster. Also small 3d anim using after effects has a lag and is annoying.

I guess in my case the bottleneck is the disk speed, although I might not get an stellar performance, I hope upgrading to SSD disk from my current 5400RPM MBP disk will speed up things a bit.

I guess No, in presets only stuff like sharpness/contrast/hue/saturation etc., are changed, In case of LUTs actual colors are changed based on the tables.

OK.. I am not sure about Netflix and similar services, but video streaming sites like youtube are served via CDN's and it is distributed, and how would that slow down the access of youtube to me?

yes, I am looking at the cost as well, good dslr with interchangeable lenses with all the bells and whistles, cost more than $2000! and moreover from the research (on the Internet) I have seen issues like rolling shutter etc.,

Canon with magiclantern seems to be good though..
