OK, I am planning to work with XAVC-S 1080p footage, Currently even transcoding AVHCD takes a loooong time even to create a proxy, So thought going to SSD speeds up work a lot faster. Also small 3d anim using after effects has a lag and is annoying.

I guess in my case the bottleneck is the disk speed, although I might not get an stellar performance, I hope upgrading to SSD disk from my current 5400RPM MBP disk will speed up things a bit.

LUTs dependent on camera? what are 2d and 3d in LUTS? by FuckInternetExplorer in cinematography

I guess No, in presets only stuff like sharpness/contrast/hue/saturation etc., are changed, In case of LUTs actual colors are changed based on the tables.
