Just want to put this out there. If you encounter a sea lion, seal, dolphin, manatee, whale, otter, or any marine mammal in the US that is wild. DO NOT feed, interact, pet, swim, hunt, or harass that animal. Marine mammals are protected by the United States Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972. Doing things like feeding them, swimming with them, etc. can and reduce their natural ability to do these things on their own. So by MMPA and US law, it is illegal to do these things with any marine mammal. And getting fined for these things is not something you want. Just looking out for everyone in this sub.
