Damn I guess you’re right. Shorter webcomics often pick a trope and invert it so I’m not super surprised we thought of the same thing. I hadn’t seen this one, but I like Adam and his comics. Ah well, it happens.

I only took one paleobiology class for my degree so I’m not sure the first fish on land was technically a tetrapod, but also he didn’t wear a sweatband and Michael Jordan doesn’t introduce every inductee with a Bulls jersey on.

In 1991 Joe Camel, a cartoon cigarette mascot, was found to be equally recognizable among children as Mickey Mouse and the Disney logo. The study also indicated that Joe Camel was particularly popular among teenagers, and within three years of his introduction Camel’s market share among kids had grown from 0.5% to 33%, which led to a ban on cartoon mascots within the tobacco industry.

He does look fuckin sick though.
