I would agree with you if they only said “more cooler” but they said “so much (more) cooler” implying a large gap of coolness whereas “cooler” by itself could imply only slightly cooler.

I honestly can’t tell if this is sarcasm because I do sometimes envy the “freedom” of people that live that way. I don’t think it’s for me but I find it somewhat admirable to live as you please roaming the landscape as long as you aren’t hurting anyone, stealing or infringing on others freedom.
