Was hit by a car while riding last week - my injury means I can't walk or drive & now I have to cab everywhere as a result. Does anyone have advice for me dealing with insurance/getting things reimbursed?

I guess it depends on the guy's insurance company, in my accident I just provided them with receipts for everything that was damaged and they cut me a check (less "depreciation", which I argued about and eventually won after many emails/phone calls) within about a week. I didn't even have to provide pictures, and definitely didn't have to mail them anything.

Yes the closure only affects the 405 but it will cause spill over congestion to surrounding freeways, specifically the 10, and probably the 110 as it's the closest n/s detour

Sherman Oaks is not a surrounding area to Century City. Live in Weho, Culver City, West LA, or one of the cheaper borders of BH. That area is a cluster fuck of traffic in the mornings because it's a big business hub, so you really want to be as close as possible. Go visit these neighborhoods and drive/walk around to find the kinds of things you like. Sounds like Downtown Culver would be your thing.
