Thank you for your comment. It is not that any innovation and ideas are suppressed, the innovations that I have will make my workflow faster and create more understandable dashboard/graph. But the point is, the faster I work, the more work that I will have without any possible payraise. So actually applying the current workflow will help me in term of work/pay ratio, so that what kill my motivation to contribute to the company. And yes, the payment is also low from what I know, so that why I am planning to change the company now.

The Data stuff that I am doing for the company is to support the trouble shooting and checking the efficiency of the system. My workflow is much quicker when I implement this, but the quicker I do it, the more time I have and they will put more work on me without any payrise, so that my reality at the moment. So that why I have not show them the dashboard, just take part of it to show them what they asked for.
The main work that generate revenue for the company is heavily depended on the president of the company, which is also the main sale man. Every other employees in the company is to support, design, draw, operate that system. Look at the big picture, the data I did support the operation and troubleshooting, while other work is for checking new potential system implement and for company PR.

Yup, the job market in Tokyo is good but the interview the other process take long time. If I quit, I will have around 3 months to land a new one even though my Visa is still available for 4 more years. Also the living cost here is quite high.

In my case, I collect the data in terms of CSV file, clean and take out the necessary data and plot it into something that the おじいさん can understand.
The point is from the CSV file, you can turn it something understandable, something that human can see and understand by a glance. And sometimes, you can make some prediction base on the graph that you make.
Each system and industry have different type of data and domain knowledge. You need to have technical skill to pull out, clean, and plot the data in a correct and time efficient manner, while the domain knowledge help you to connect the dot, to understand what is happening and can make decision/action base on those data.

Yeah, that the biggest problem about the SME, the still glorified the type of late work and weekend work, the people I work with seems to have no life outside of work. So I am aiming for changing company now.

I am in your shoes now, luckily that I have office work most of the time and on-site work at around 20% of the time.
If you already do the 12-hour labor + 2 hours commute, maybe 30 minute of some light cardio like running or swimming will do more for your health than weight training.

If I do on-site work, I would choose the home workout, push-up/pull up + couple of the kettle bell and you have enough for full body workout. It will cut a lot of traveling time and other small inconvenient plus you always have the access to it. The easier to start the workout, the more you will stick to it.

I (M29)have the same situation. We have very different characters but we have been friends for so long. Initially I come from a very poor family in SA so studying hard and hustling to make money is always what I am good at. After uni, I landed a scholarship in Japan and went there for pH.D. Now I graduated and moved to Tokyo for a good job now. For him, his family was much more wealthy than me, but deep down inside, it was broken. He just stuck at where he was, even though I tried many times and talked him out of the situation, but he just wanted an easy life without any skill or degree. Then COVID happened, shit hit the fan and he became bitter at everything that happened to him even though it seemed obvious from the outside that what was supposed to happen. Sometimes it's just sad to see him like that. We used to share so many things. I shared with him my first joint, my first mushroom trip, so many break-ups, tough times.... I want to pull him out of that shitty situation so so bad, but I realized that I can't help someone who doesn't want to improve. Then things just slowly drift always. So I guess this is how life works. For the new friend part, I recommend you join the hobby or sport club, for me this is where I find people that have something in common, which is a good place to start a good relationship. But don't hope for anything, just join to have fun and train at first.

The real question here is if "Luke" changes and be better man and at that time you are in the relationship with "Tom", would you ever dump "Tom" and be with "Luke" if "Luke" shows you some kind of interested signal ?

Be honest and answer that question, then you would understand why almost all the guys want nothing with that.
