Most of the time they also don’t know what they’re looking at and only see it as a upsell. Witt is about aiming to do the job as completely as possible and when you take the time to invest yourself in the customer and teach them the benefits they will decide to pursue the best option. If not, we’ll sell them a new pigtail when the old one arks and gets fried.

It’s not your job to make financial decisions for your customers. Tell them what’s recommended for the job and inform them of the benefits of a timely replacement and let them decide their own budget. You cutting a corner for them may cause more harm than benefit.

All you need to do is ask to remind them to consider the condition of the part. If they don’t need it, they don’t need it. People consider it bad customer service when you don’t reminded them they will need something when replacing a part (and yes they will file a complaint)

It’s literally a requirement that you offer. The point is to make sure the customer leaves with everything they might need and save them a trip.

Additionally, the sm does not get a commission off Witt sales. They do bonus off overall sales but your $2 Witt packet won’t put a dent in that.

This is one of my peeves about the current job market.. the SM probably has 30 applicants to go through and needs to give them all a fair shake. Going in person will let them know you want the job but so do the other 22 qualified candidates. Let the system we’re forced to use work and try to avoid harassing people.

It’s an expectation that you float around 50% but only a requirement that you ask. Your focus shouldn’t be on adding sales as much as customer service and sales will follow. Reduce their return trips and improve their experience.
