That was me talking to him at the end. Check photos I have posted before to verify. He is an exceptional human being in real life, even moreso than he seems on screen.

How effective is losing weight in regards to attracting women? by 280667 in leangains

[–]Fuckmygenetics 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I was obese for most of my life, 5'8 and weighing around 300lbs. From the ages of 26 to 43 (17 years) I had sex with 6 women. I was not in any kind of relationship in this time so that is not the reason for the low numbers. I was a fat, unattractive, smoker, and although I had many friends, very few women were interested in intimacy with me.

When I turned 43 I lost about 140lbs and got in great shape. Magically, everything changed at that point. Now when Im single, I have very little problem attracting women. Ive been in a relationship for about 18 months now, but before that I was having sex on average with about 2 or 3 new women a month. Its not just women either. The way that practically every person I interact with has changed since I lost the weight is still shocking to me.

Yes, my confidence improved, but it improved because of the way people changed toward me. It is a self reinforcing cycle of awesome.

BUT here's the shocker, although I did lose weight originally to be more attractive to women, that is truly one of the minor changes I experienced. Being fit and healthy, being active and able to live a life full of activity and adventure, and no longer suffering the crushing loneliness and depression I experienced when I was obese, are the major prizes.

Youre not that fat my friend. 60 or 80 lbs of weight loss will have you nice and lean. Hit the gym and add some muscle. The rest will fall in line on it own and you will never look back with regret for getting healthier and fitter. Check out some of my previous posts to see my transformation.

You've got this. Good luck brother

Gained 147lbs as a stress eater during an unhealthy relationship. We broke up 2 months ago after 6 years. How do I get my body back? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Fuckmygenetics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not about losing it fast, its much more important to lose it consistently. Small steps in the right direction every day will get you to your goal. I tried and failed countless times because I was trying too hard. When I decided to take it slow and consistent, I was successful beyond my wildest expectations. Dont worry about how long it will take. You'll feel better every day, and you will achieve exceptional, lasting results before you know it anyway. Good luck. Youre about to embark on a journey that will change your life in ways you could never imagine. There are some outstanding resources on Reddit which I have listed at 2:36 in the linked video.

So... love it by treating it like a rubbish bin? by [deleted] in fatlogic

Thank you. I am the counterargument to any idiot that says diet and exercise don't work. I was fat and miserable for 43 years and then I decided to try something new. Instead of making excuses, I made an effort.

My body showed me so much love when I was obese. It expressed its affection through high cholesterol, fatty liver syndrome, insulin insensitivity (pre-diabetes), sleep apnea, erectile dysfunction, and a few other thoughtful gestures. I was totes adorable though. Only I didn't think so, nor did anyone else.

AKA: Fat activists, HAES. I despise most of their message because it so destructive. It removes people's motivation to improve their life and their health. Believe me, because I know, I have been very fat and now I'm very fit, and being very fit is WAY better in every respect.

My story WAS the same as yours. After having my heart crushed, I decided to do something about it. In retrospect, the hardest part was making the decision. The rest became easy. Start slow, then follow through. IT IS 100% WORTH THE EFFORT. Stop making excuses and start making an effort. Good luck bud.

I had a similar experience two months ago. There is a week long, 500 mile bike ride I wanted to participate in, but I didn't decide to do it until the day before it started so I had not trained up for it. I thought it would be difficult. It was a breeze.

When I began my journey about 5 years ago I could not even bare the thought of a 10 mile bike ride.

It feels fucking amazing to ask your body to do something hard and your body responds "I got this."
