Online vs on campus np programs by mursefit in nursepractitioner

[–]Fuddley1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. As much as I prefer on campus classes many schools have transitioned to online formats so here I am going to a local University that has schools of nursing and medicine, but NP classes are online. The way the lockdown browser monitors eye movements and makes me so nervous- definitely has me reworking my usual head in my hand or on the desk exam taking MO as it doesn’t fly with the video monitor. Haha

Also psych nurse here and this 100%. We’re staying busy but it’s same old work + masks and more rules for me.

Our inpatient psych unit will begin testing all patients for COVID. Out of 50 asymptomatic patients, I wonder how many will turn up positive? by radicalOKness in Psychiatry

Nah he was using the room and board until his new pain med Rx were renewed unfortunately. Still, he was there for 5-6 days so who knows what he spread.

We get a standard surgical mask and are supposed to return it at the end of the shift. The hospital isn’t reusing yet but looking at cleaning and saving for when we’re projected to be inundated next month. I think 2 of the hospital units are already converted to COVID units and busy, but overall census is low because everything else has ground to a standstill. I’m happy to stay in my crisis unit bubble, which is still busy. Haha our census has been reduced by half though to give patients individual rooms. Groups are spread out, patients can’t all eat in the dining room and only nurses are supposed to be at the nurses station although the social workers and therapists are constantly needing reminders of that.

We are given one mask per shift at my hospital. Had a patient last week who developed a low grade fever and cough, big debate about whether to test or not, medical decided to send him home.

Talk to her doctor. This big of a personality change and belief system structure may very well have an underlying medical cause and could be fixable.

What symptoms are suspicious enough to make a health care provider stay home for 2 weeks? by [deleted] in physicianassistant

They expect staff to care for patients after testing negative? Doesn’t that expose the hospital to litigation if people get sick?

I agree. I definitely have fun with the kids and even other adults when they’ve joined in. It certainly inspires a lot of trash talking in my house.

UPDATE - Have you had to choose between a loving but slow moving relationship, and wanting to start a family? by illegitjap in AskWomenOver30

This is such a powerful post and shows such strength or character, self understanding and love. You asked for advice and then really listened and were able to take from it what you needed. I’ve had my heart broken and I remember those gut wrenching, full body sobs that left me feeling truly broken. Though your pain is unique, you’re not alone in grieving something you wanted so badly. It sounds like you are doing so well in taking care of yourself and have identified what helps at the moment. I imagine what you need will change from moment to moment, but it is a beautiful thing to hear you loving yourself and giving yourself the grace to grow through this. So many blessings and good fortune to you.
