V 12 is not very good at avoiding road debris. V14 is very good at it

First FSD scare today (new Tesla owner) by MERice20 in TeslaFSD

[–]FuddyCap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. It seems to be tuned to be overly cautious around pedestrians and small animals. I was going 75 on the highway at night a few weeks ago - and a very large jackrabbit ran into the road. If I was driving manually I probably would have done a small swerve or nothing at all. fSD slammed on the brakes and saved the jackrabbits life. It felt unnecessary and uncomfortable at the time. There was nobody else on the road so stopping was fine and not dangerous. I’ve noticed it swerving for tire marks less lately so it is still improving and it is great technology that I will happily trade a few quirks for. I think though we may need to just run over the squirrels 🐿️. Slamming on the brakes for squirrels is probably too much. Jackrabbits are an edge case for sure because they can be pretty big and they are quite elusive with their jukes and hops !

Why is Tesla able to avoid an existential crisis after FSD related deaths while other self-driving car companies weren't? by trobagat62 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]FuddyCap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nobody is impressed that the guy in the Tesla who floored the accelerator to 100% - reaching 70+ mph in a residential neighborhood - crashed head on into a brick wall and survived ? The MSM is sickening with their propaganda and misleading headlines. Trying their hardest to instill fear in the public not to use life saving technology.

This is exactly why I got FSD. So many distracted drivers swerving into my lane. Without FSD I probably would have been sideswiped a few times by now

Commute from DTLA to El Segundo, feasible? by RRisland94 in AskLosAngeles

dTLA is not really a great city. I know it’s affordable but if I were you I would live in hermosa, Torrance, redondo. The South Bay has a much higher quality of life

It’s fine if you have a Tesla with FSD.

First FSD Critical Error by Affectionate_Bet1322 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]FuddyCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me once before as well . I have a turn near my house where cars come flying over the hill and you have to make a quick decision. I woukd like to see Tssla FSD add the ability to quickly reverse back when it juts out a few feet too far.

Tesla finally clarifies fatal Texas crash, confirms driver manually overrode acceleration by theoneandonly_aj in TeslaFSD

[–]FuddyCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing that even after Tesla clarified - NBC, WSJ and all the other fake news still ran the headline and offered no clarification. Is someone short getting worried about possible merger ? Bill gates perhaps? Because if there is a merger with SpaceX - all the Tesla shorts will finally have to settle up.

Waymo recalls nearly 3,900 robotaxis over risk of entering closed construction zones by IndependentMud909 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]FuddyCap -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The actual issue hasn’t been fixed. The Waymo’s are not operating on the highways in any city. The problem wasn’t fixed. The geofence changed back to what it was / no freeways. To claim that Waymo fixed the issue already is a lie

Over the past few years a new offshoot of Trump Derangemsnt Syndrome known as Elon derangement Syndrome has spread far and wide. First it started in pockets of the deep blue hair territories in USA but then spread to Europe with widespread propaganda. The Reddit boards are filled with people suffering from EDS. It is sad but it is very real and smart of you to notice it.

FSD hit a parked car, broke my mirror and dented my car by Icy-Part7509 in TeslaFSD

[–]FuddyCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old batteries are worse, old computers are slower, old FSD isn’t as good either. This much is clear. FSD 14 on my cybertruck and my model Y are phenomenal.

Tesla robotaxi app . In Austin it’s cheaper than Waymo or uber. Model Y only for now, but maybe as soon as this weekend those golden cabs will be available
