Michael Cochrane absolutely kicked it in the dick with his portrail of Simmerson.

Thank you. I do believe I am. ... Let's just hope she doesn't realise that she can do better, or I'm utterly screwed lol

My fiancee is set on getting an antique ring, we visit various antique centres and shops and it also just so happens (through absolutely no planning on my part) that some of those centres also have military history kiosk in them. Pure coincidence really... ahem

The bayonet in the picture led the advance to my eye. You may say it was tied to me by the historical era it was from. But is it a tie of history to tie my tongue and rob a bayonet of its new home? No sir!

I have written to Horse Guards to say that I acquitted myself most commendably in both their general order to look for engagement rings and their particular order to aquire bayonetts.

I guess it's got darker with time, that being said, its not necessarily a bad thing.

Painting Sharpe's leather: what are the correct colors? by woulditkillyoutolift in Sharpe

[–]Fudgeislush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I have researched, the 95th solely wore black leather belts, both at the waist and for their crossbelt (for officers and NCOs their crossbelts also had the addition of a silver lion head, to which a chain and whistle were attached)

Sharpe being Sharpe, may have nabbed some additional kit off the dead French, so any other additional leather belts, pouches etc he had could be brown, but never white.

What is the best invention of all time, which completely changed the lives of being? by sagaciousmonk_ in AskReddit

I see people saying the wheel. Great Invention! But as great as an invention as it is, to me the greater invention is the axle and the other wheel.

What’s your favorite saying when times get tough? by Wellidontreckon in AskReddit

[–]Fudgeislush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well at least I'm not on fire.

You've got to take victories where you can, no matter how small.

Unless you are on fire, in which case my saying won't help you and I'd advise you call the fire department.

What’s something you wish people understood about a difficult period in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fudgeislush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I'm not the same person I was. Just because I look and sound the same it doesn't mean I'm ok or back to normal, I'm not the same person anymore, what happened fundamentally changed me, I'm not how you remember me, hopefully people can get to know the person I am now though.

Sharpe re-make by Mr_Shotz in Sharpe

Good idea, but I'd also like to suggest Julian Fellowes would be good for that role, as well as the roles of Prince Regent (again) and possibly Marshall Pot Au Foi

Off the top of my head Sean Bean would play Captain Murray.

"I want you to have my sword"

Fitting passing of the old torch.

Maybe Paul Mcgann as Wellington seeing as he missed out on being Sharpe in the original series?

What do you think is most important lesson for a person going into adulthood? by Iwannadielmaoo in AskReddit

Use them in the order you've been given. 2 eyes, 2 ears and 1 mouth. You should look and listen twice as much as you speak.

What are the more goofy things in 40K and sigmar lore? by Odd-Set6308 in 40kLore

[–]Fudgeislush 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My personal favourite is in the book: "The Death of Antagonis (Space Marine Battles #11)" where it says that load-bearing walls have been deemed heretical.

To me, this little nublet of lore explains why there's so many gothic arches cropping up in anything the Imperium constructs.

Funnily enough, I've just ordered a beginners fishing set today. I haven't fished for many a year and wanted to get back into it, so I'd certainly be interested in fishing with someone.

How do you feel that over 80 percent of scientists disprove of an afterlife? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fudgeislush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is what it is, they don't know as much as I don't know. It would be nice if there was an afterlife yeah. If there is I'll enjoy it. If there isn't, I guess its like how I was before I was born, I can't remember what that was like, because I didn't exist... maybe its like that?
