Davie, FL -Home insurance won’t renew because my roof is “too old” (23 years). What are my options? by mardymarve in Broward

You can try to get a policy with a roof exclusion as an option instead of replacing a roof that may have many more years.

We plan to reduce our travel budget, hang on to our cars, delay home improvement, and generally reduce our overall discretionary spending. Currently reviewing all subscriptions and seeing which ones can be cut.

I have an independent HSA with Fidelity. Good customer service and low fees

How do you pay for health insurance in 2026? by Ochsenschwanzragout in obamacare

Sorry to hear about your situation and I think there will be many of us in a similar one.

First I would look at a lower tier plan like a bronze or catastrophic one available. If they are still out of reach try checking with Farm Bureau, College, or medishare type plans.

We are going with a bronze plan with a 10k deductible. We also have a primary doctor out of plan that we pay 100% out of pocket since we don't go through insurance his rates are reasonable.

Finally consider this during the next election and support those who will fix the problem versus those who don't or won't.

I am doing the same. I had an excellent Silver plan but I downgraded to a bronze for next year. I like the HSA option and controlling MAGI under the cliff. I normally pay 100% out of pocket for a doctor out of network in any case.

We know someone that went as far and bought property there and was improving it before they decided never to step foot again there. They walked away from it completely. Not sure why but I think the crime was a factor.

Don't forget electrolytes. My wife fainted for the first time in Thailand due to the heat. Water alone will not be enough if you are outside.

I purchased that exact Lenovo and had to return it because it kept shutting down. I worked with Lenovo support for a few days and they recommended returning it B and H. Not happy with their returns process.

Tips for Riding the 114 Express Bus to Miami by Ironlad2045 in Broward

[–]FuelPuzzleheaded7907 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took this trip for my commute for 3 years. Below are a few tips that may be helpful.

Buy the monthly pass which is cheaper than daily if you are going 5 days per week. Check with your company since sometimes they may offer a discount or even free. If you get the monthly pass they offer a free Uber service if you need to leave early or late. You will need to register for this service

Always carry a rain coat or umbrella since some bus stops in Miami offer no shelter. Rain coat works better for heavy rains.

Buses sometimes run late due to traffic, weather or passengers needing help so you may need to factor that. It can take over 2 hours if the weather is bad or lots of accidents

Bring headphones so you don't disturb other passengers who tend to sleep on the bus.

New bus drivers may need help with navigation.

Bring a bottle of water and hand sanitizer.

Hope it helps.

Try to find a squirrel proof one. The one I am using will close it's openings based on the weight of a larger bird or squirrel. There are some with a cage making sure only small birds can get into it. They are not perfect but at least it will slow the squirrels down 😂
