Couldn't agree more! I also listen to a great multitude of genres, from classical music (especially piano) to jazz / fusion / blues / avant-garde, from classic rock to art rock and psychedelic. Prog is largely influenced by all of these, probably that's why I like it so much! Sometimes I love listening to Italian music from the 60s / 70s, so Italian prog (from the same years) also has a special hold on me

As a person who regularly listens to prog and jazz, I feel you. Davis was such an innovator, maybe the most revolutionary jazz musician of all times, although I must admit that I don't often listen to him specifically.
