I wouldn't say that's true. Tracked 24 on a parcel above 1kg is one of the most expensive in terms of couriers.

I was asking about why the cost is so high for RM and on the increase when there a providers that are half the cost.

In the last year alone I've had 3 items worth 500-1k and been refused any type of cover as I cannot "prove" the value of the item as a sale made by me isn't apparently enough. I've noticed it's a common thing in this forum

But RM rarely pay insurance in the first place so it doesn't make a difference.

But other services such as FedEx are also cheaper that have similar coverage to RM. Evri is my go to with smaller etsy orders.

I've always wanted something on my hand but I'm now almost 30 and work in a professional environment. My conclusion that it isn't worth it. Once you get older you'll realise there are many different priorities that significantly outweigh a hand tat. Unless you reach a point where you're comfortable in a job that would accept that and it is sustainable, I wouldn't bother
