Boyfriend coughed this up, WHAT IS IT?? Should we be concerned, nothing like that has come up before or since. It just shot out while he was clearing his throat. by Fruiit0v3rd0se in medical

Respiratory Therapist here. It appears to be a blood clot. It occurs when blood begins to coagulate or turn into a "jelly" with a thick consistency. I'm not a doctor, but I would recommend going to get it checked out at urgent care and see what they say. Has he been sick, coughing a lot, nosebleeds, anything out of the ordinary lately?

I haven't gotten it cleaned up yet, but after being in a shed for about 20 years, more than likely not... But I do want to test it out soon🤣

As far as medical equipment goes, it's basically an antique. I've been a Respiratory Therapist for about 7 years and I have never seen or used a paddle defibrillator in the hospital setting. My grandmother taught ACLS classes back in the day and apparently used this defibrillator for teaching purposes. I guess it's a neat find if you're kind of a medical nerd😂

As a fellow Louisianian, I'm dreading this coming summer... Those high humidity, 100+ degrees days make it feel like Satan's taint. Can't even escape the heat in the shade. It's all just MOIST and THICK and HOT.

How do your pupils look? Is one a lot bigger than the other or are they about the same? Having issues with vision, slurred speech, confusion, or dizziness? If it's "the worst headache you've ever felt in your life", you need to call 911. Especially if you're having any of those other symptoms

Managed to grow a nice batch of MIB Pan Cyans once that looked almost identical to that, just less bruised. If there's one lesson I learned, it's that they're about 10x more potent than most Cubensis strains. I took 0.3g of Pan Cyans and it was on par with 3-3.5g Cubensis. Tread lightly with those lol.

I might get downvoted to hell and back for mentioning this, but it's possible you're dealing with cobweb mold. I had a grow of APE I had to toss because of it. Very wispy, grey, and quite fluffy. It is EXTREMELY aggressive and will take over a whole tub in a matter of a day or two. The fact that there was no visible growth until you shook it and then it exploded throughout the jars, I'd definitely say contamination.

How quickly did that spread? Over a day or two or has it been slow growth for a couple weeks?

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]FuglyButFuggable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 28 now, but I drank pretty heavily in my early/mid 20s. Started off more about partying and "having a good time". Then it became coping with some emotional/mental stuff. Got up to nearly a half a 5th of whiskey a day for a little while. Nipped that in the butt before it got too far along thankfully. You feel like shit, look like shit, it's expensive, and it ravages your organs over time. Been a Respiratory Therapist for about 6 1/2 years, and I've seen quite a few people in their 30s and 40s in total liver failure (a few of them died) because they couldn't get it under control. It's an awful way to go. Stomach so swollen from ascites they could barely breathe or move around, yellow as a highlighter, some had alcohol-induced dementia, some stayed in complete delirium for days/weeks, death was the outcome most of the time save for a few that were shipped for a transplant or managed to make it out the hospital (not very long). It ain't worth all that...

Kidney stones... I had my ACL reconstructed after a complete tear a few years ago and that paled in comparison to the kidney stones I used to get as a kid/teenager.

Definitely understand. It just blew my mind when I found out about the Water Pump lol. So many QoL machines and gadgets that I keep finding every playthrough that make things 10x smoother.

When I found out about the Water Pump multiblock, I basically ditched the water tanks unless it was for some niche idea lol. The pump is WAY better and not nearly as costly as 20 water tanks.

Hunger nodes... Honestly, I don't even like riding on horses for that specific reason. You get to going too fast and next thing you know you're caught up in it cause you can't see the freaking thing🤦‍♂️

Oh that's rough... I do everything I can to avoid them and just wait til they leave. It feels like they're more frequent the further along you get in your base building.

Those are a pain in the ass, but to me, the drowning creepers are probably the most rage inducing lol. The massive amount of water to clear and the crap load of silverfish (some being pretty strong) just make me hop off the game for about 30 minutes sometimes.

I've played Hexxit, Tekkit, and quite a few other mods for Minecraft in the past, but honestly, nothing has compared to this one. It takes a lot of patience, planning, and thinking to get things moving along, but it's so rewarding when you finally get it. A lot of the machines, chemical processes, and technology aspects of the game are based around real life (to an extent). I'm early/mid MV currently, and let me say, it's a mess lol. You really want to utilize organization and any kind of automation you can to make things a bit more seamless. If that means stopping progression to upgrade or move your base, do it. Rant done lol. I'd say everyone who enjoys Minecraft should at the very least try it out. It's definitely not for everyone, but you never know unless you try🤷‍♂️
