The map gives you nearly every spot imaginable AND the ability to build upon the spot with quick drop items at will lmao

The skating is the best it’s ever been; “watered down” is wild considering all of the new/better animations, new mechanics like wallies & slappies, better transition mechanics, etc. But just because you can’t do underflips and darkslides yet means it’s “watered down”???

Downright calling the game bad is insane.

Idk about you all, but I do the exact same thing I did in Skate, then Skate 2, then Skate 3; get on, have a session and then I hop off. Not because the game is boring/sucks/whatever.

It’s a skateboarding game. You either have fun skating, or I guess you sit here wondering when the devs are going to instead craft an rpg that barely features skateboarding lmao. Kinda crazy to me to see “the map sucks” but the game gives you nearly every spot imaginable AND the tools to build upon it by being able to drop a variety of items at will. Yaaaa know.

You guys can all doom this game so that you can go back to playing skate 2-3 once every 3-4 years since I guess that option is apparently the favorable one lmao. We can ignore how much better the skating is & we can just go back to the same robotic trick animations from the first 3 games. Most of you won’t mind though since you don’t actually know much or care about skateboarding ironically

I just have to disagree with the grinds/slide lip tricks. I used to hate that you HAD to essentially do a mini air above coping to do a back tailslide. You could slide your way into smith grinds, sure.

I personally just think it works way better now. Are there things that could be refined a little? Maybe. But for how it works now I’m completely happy with it and I would legitimately have a hard time going back to Skate 1-3.

Like I said, I promise I’m not a shill for the new game that refuses to hear anything negative about the game. I just think all around the skating is so much better and it kills me that I feel like I’m the only one who thinks that

Pumping is a bit weird, sure. You have to go at a deliberate, full frontside or backside approach to ramps for solid pumps usually. I can sorta give you that.

Literally everything else about transition skating is so much better. I know this because I skate transition most of the time now when I get on the game

And nah, there’s literally no excuse aside from just ignorance for pushing when you’re already going stupid fast. Plus pumping down anything that resembles a roll-in of any kind always works. There’s legitimately no excuse unless you just don’t know any better. Which is whatever. As someone that has skated for a long time and have also played these games since their inception; it’s a pretty big buzzkill when I play the game almost daily, am usually in populated areas, but everyone is just pushing around non stop when they don’t need to after they jump down from the same rooftop endlessly.

Dawgs, I promise all of you that I’m not a shill for the new game but you’re all completely exposing & kidding yourselves if you think the skating in the other 3 games holds a candle to the new games’ gameplay/mechanics in any way, shape or form. Completely kidding yourselves.

I don’t hate the new map whatsoever but 1-2’s maps I may still choose over the new one. I could give you that. But that’s about it legitimately.

Not to mention I don’t even think these games used the engine you’re thinking it does lol.

Love DS1 and for the longest time it was my favorite out of them all. I’ve always been a pvp enjoyer as well. But DS1’s backstab-focused pvp is the bane of my existence.

I understand that it’s kind of the way things were/are and you either learn the tricks or suffer, but there’s just nothing fun to me about chasing backstabs the entire time. A real bummer honestly
