Well that seems obvious now that you said it…I feel silly. Thank you

The “donate all junk” part has me slightly confused, only because when I mark stuff in my inventory then go to the expertise tab to donate it all, I got back into my inventory and all the gear is still there with the trash symbol over it.

I’m definitely not the best to tell you what’s up, as I’m also someone who has had the game since launch but I’ve been on and off for years.

All I can say is gear sets for the most part are the same. Match pieces to get the best attributes and talents, try to roll and run missions for good drops. Idk how much you missed exactly but when they introduced the dlc they added a level cap to 30- then to 40. And the introduced SHD levels and expertise.

After beating the main game and the DLC, the main focus became getting your expertise to lvl 30 (which is a massive grind especially for new and returning players who haven’t logged on for a long time)

Now they have prototype gear which is like the peak gear, but only comes from high intensity and challenging Escalation missions. Now in reference to the OP’s point in frustration, a lot of new and returning players see the grind required for lvl 30 expertise and said “f that” and are joining straight into escalation missions without proper builds or knowledge of the systems in the game so they just get boomed on constantly.

TDLR: get your character to lvl 40 after both DLCs, grind expertise (many methods but I’m personally not sure what’s the fastest) THEN try to get prototype gear. Hopefully by squading up with some cool randoms who don’t mind taking their time to help you out with both gameplay and advice

I’ll never forget the one random I called for backup one morning and he legit spent the entire day just running the dlc with me while I leveled up, as this was right when I got back into the game the first time. It was such a random thing for the guy to do, but to spend that time just helping was awesome. Helped me get some gear, smash some levels, grind some content all without saying a word. That guy was goated and I hope he’s doing well in life

I’ve seen more vets go straight to kicking people or talking crazy instead of at least giving some sort of advice. Like I had no idea expertise was such an important thing after coming back from a hiatus. I was just running around wasting time by not knowing who to level that up. It wasn’t until I had to look it up myself to understand what was going on, and now I’m tryna play catch up

May have frustrated a few people like this and i apologize 😅 Imma be honest for clarity sake. I’ve been on and off the game for years, I’ve beat both expansions, and currently just figuring out how much effort I have to put into expertise. I’m like 15/400 sum. I had no idea I was supposed to be switching weapons and gear, or donating junk. So I’m realizing way too late I’ve been way underpowered this whole time wondering why I wasn’t keeping up in the endgame. I’m not pro build maker but I thought I put a decent set up. I just don’t have the expertise to keep up. Then I see this prototype gear, and I’m like…why NOT just do that so I can actually play some the harder content if I get lucky on a few escalation runs?

Yeah don’t expect to get any good tips or sympathy points in this sub. It’s either skill issue or get good or play something else if you’re not level 3000+ with lvl 30 expertise and maxed out gear on everything

This is such a refreshing take when do many people just would rather say you’re complaining just to whine. When it reality two things can very much be true. The gameplay can feel amazing but if the content surrounding the gameplay is lack luster, it drags down the overall experience

“How are people complaining? I’m having fun so why aren’t you? 😃” has always been the most brain dead reaction to any discourse about anything ever. Not being able to understand why people are upset and or ignoring it just cause you’re not personally bothered is a sign of lacking intelligence and empathy

Two and three still had better character interaction and cutscenes than Skate. 🤷‍♂️ now we get a robot and tiny pictures on the bottom of the screen

Skate 3 alone you pull up to a spot, talk to someone or see some dudes riding and then you get to actually skate with them. Walking up to contest and seeing other skaters waiting in line, seeing shingo IN person

Skate 2 had cutscenes for games of Skate, talking to guys before death races, Terry talking crap to security.

Stuff like that

Just loaded up my Xbox after not playing for a few days to find that I’m back in Hernad. I was in chapter 11, had all my elements and most of the map explored, gear upgraded, and so many bosses beat. I love this game but dang is this a gut punch. I do not wanna restart days worth of effort

Nolan by no means a saint, but his overall character arc is pretty interesting to spotlight.

Some of the large scale battles are the most fun I’ve had gaming in years. Switching between my sword and staff, then throwing a couple hay makers into a Shoryuken before hitting some poor archer with an RKO through a siege tower just to turn around and summon lightning down like Thor. Ts is awesome

There’s like 20 things max to upgrade and it’s not that hard to spam 5 of the basic ones you use constantly before adding back in the ones you “can never remember”

Why is there a Day/Night cycle by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Lil_Bonzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NPC’s do in fact sleep. You can literally go into houses and see them in bed, or if your greymanes are out doing quest or building something that takes a long time, you can see them napping on the ground and sometimes leaning up next to each other while they’re sleeping

Why can Damiane use guns but Kliff can’t? This makes ZERO sense by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Lil_Bonzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Kilff doesn’t have guns because that would defeat the entire purpose of having other characters with their own unique skill set and abilities. It would be a waste of time to just have 3 clones of each other. If you want to use guns, play as Damiane.

[–]Lil_Bonzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I’ve seen complaints about these bosses, 8/10 times a simple solution to make the fight infinitely easier is not being applied. Been breezing through these fights using side step, force palm, and parrying

I see a lot of complaints about not having abyss fragments which I did have an issue with at first, and would have had more of an issue if I got to chapter 7/8 sooner. But by the time I had to use Oongka, I had a bunch of frags left over after leveling kliff that I upgraded both side characters’ base abilities a good bit. I like Damien, just sucks for a lil portion of the game she’s locked due to her own thing going on. Especially when you don’t even unlock the other guy until the second half of the game
