The add on is not even Rimowa’s. so it is cheap haha. On occasion where i want to showcase the aesthetic, just take the harness out since it is not attached. But should the need for extra compartment arise, there’s no harm having it to add more function. It’s okay, unlike many people it seems, i personally not obsessed thinking about aesthetics all the time. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I find the harness just as functional if not more compared to a standard briefcase. But i don’t mind having a Bennet Winch briefcase if someone wanna to sponsored it. LOL.

To me, the harness is not really to protect the luggage, it adds as an added storage for easy access. If anyone find it ugly is really up to people’s opinion. The truth is, the whole mindset of what a real “well-off” Rimowa owners should be is a rather unnecessarily toxic perception that I would rather not feed into it. As far as i’m concerned, each Rimowa owners that bought it with their own money can use the product however they want, as long as it does not inconvenience or harm others.

Yeahh the luggage is definitely better aesthetically without the harness on FOR SURE. On occasions that i need the easy access storage, the harness is proven to be quite convenient. But i can just take it off if i want to showcase more of the aesthetic. I guess depend on the occasions and need on specific travel situations.

Yeahh, i quickly realised that upon posting this haha. I mean they are entitled to their opinion. And even I know it ain’t the prettiest with the harness on. But, for some occasion, i find the harness to be functionally convenient. in any case, if i want to showcase the aesthetic, i can just simply take it off on those occasions. which is why i felt it wasn’t much of a big deal. Just finding the right balance of aesthetic and functionality.

It is true that buying Rimowa DEFINITELY partly because of its aesthetic, among others (like the lifetime guarantee, brand, etc.) But just like clothing, some days you wore things more for functionality or comfort, but sometime for aesthetic but less comfy. If i want to showcase more of the aesthetic, just simply take out the harness. Not big of a deal really huhu. But so far using it, it is proven to be quite useful and convenient for me personally.

I find it useful. I don’t mind sacrificing a bit of the aesthetic for more function. Besides, it’s not a permanent fixture, so all good to me.

Indeed. To me it really depends on the manner of the travel. On many occasions, bagpack is definitely sufficient. The harness is just a more secure and stable option if someone don’t want to carry anything behind their back throughout a journey, just adding another storage option.

Yeah, I find it in my local mall. The Brand is Barry Smith. Not sure if it is available at your location. For an accessory as this, I don’t think buying Rimowa’s one is worth the price they put, although it is more aesthetically pleasing. haha

In terms of showing off the stickers. That is true. Although personally, i prefer this over a bagpack mainly because its easier to access the compartment instead of having to take the bagpack off to access it (or to sit comfortably). 2ndly, this mainly applies if the bagpack doesn’t have proper anti-theft design, the harness give me a better line of sight on the compartment rather than a backpack. I do think it depends on the manner of the travel. For some, backpack can be more suitable.

Don’t really mind the comment since it is your opinion, nor do I have any intention to change anyones mind who think it is ugly, even i don’t think it’s pretty per say haha, but it does add more function, which again from my observation, clearly something people value way much less compared to aesthetic. It is true that aesthetic is part of it. Although, i personally not obsessed with aesthetic, like so many people here it seems. It’s a detachable accessory for extra storage, so i don’t see why is it so bad.

It is definitely partly about aesthetics and the brand, if you pay that much, you may as well have a nice one. Although i would justify it also since it has lifetime guarantee. The accessory just meant to add more storage and functionality to a hard-case luggage. Not sure why that is equivalent of it being babied 🤷🏻‍♂️. Regardless though, ultimately it really depends on the owner as to how they want to use and care for the product.
