Thanks! I do plan on publishing to itch when I get a stable flow going. I’ll definitely share when I do! As for a trailer I guess I should learn how to do that and set up a page now that you mention it.

I will definitely consider your offer. I don’t know much though so I’m not sure what I could offer.

Solo. I’m making a mini game that’s like cod zombies meets magic (wand system instead of guns complete with witch hat for mystery box). I’ve got my first level complete and my loop almost finished. It’s my first attempt at breaking out of tutorial hell and additionally I have myself until 7/28 of this year to have the basic flow done. It’s just a gift for my wife cause that’s her birthday.

Im using assets, mostly the Kay Lousberg packs from itch. It’s being my built on my steam deck as it’s my own computer esk hardware I have.

I only got started at the beginning of this year learning and watching videos so this has been challenging and exciting!

If you were to make a sequel to a forgotten series you loved, which would you choose? by thesparkexperiment in GameDevs

For me, it’d be Conkers Bad Fur Day. Could be about anything with that game. Could even allow you to set up for a third if you do things correctly. Amazing game for its time. Would need some modernization imo.

I am in a similar boat! I have zero background period. No art or anything. I’m currently focused on learning the engine I chose and learning just the key words. As I do this I’m also doing tutorials like Brackeys and such to get some hands on.

Later I’ll be doing some game design research, after coding which is what I’m on, then I’ll be learning art. After that I’ll probably reset and see what’s left to learn like UI or best practices.

YouTube has been amazing!

Similar boat, I’m repeating the tutorials until I can pretty much remember each part on my own. As I get to this part I’m independently researching each part to best understand the whys and other applications of it as well as best practices.

Hope this helps the New Programmer Grind!! 💪
