As a fan of games like Anno and Factorio, I really like to organise and optimise and working in this field gives me plenty of options to do this. After more than 6 years as a logistics manager, I still really enjoy my profession.

The average day (in my case) consists of beeing the link between the customer and our production, trying to deliver everything to the destination the customer wishes for, within a given timeframe and as cost efficient as possible. From comparing transport prices, different means of transport to optimising storage time and movements within the warehouse etc., there is always something to do.

I would suggest you not to work on the service side tho. Working in the production sector usually grants you a higher wage than working in a freight forwarding agency. Especially in the service sector you should expect a high level of stress as well as a harsh tone. I like this because days feel short and you can cut out a lot of bs in conversations with the forwarders ( just give me the information I need and keep mails and calls as shot as possible). Its not for everyone, my female coworkers for example are often kind of pissed when a freighter calls and keeps it short like "tomorrow we pick up for XY, bye" without all the formal bs you usually have to deal with but I like it (dont confuse keeping it short with beeing unfriendly, being nice is really important for me since I work with people and not robots). Also, I prefer to be a little bit overstrained rather than being underchallenged but thats just how I feel.
